How big a failure would it be if Aprilia lose the 2026 title to Marc Marquez from here?

Massive failure since the lead was so big early on in the season and all they had to do is finish in the top 5 for the remainder of the season to secure the title. This is reminding me of this year's Nba Final between the knicks and spurs.

Could it not be argued that Aprilia were being crowned the champions-elect too early? The RS-GP was clearly superior compared to the Ducati GP26 at the start of the year, but they were fighting against a wounded Marc Marquez.

The comparison is bang on, the Spurs had ample opportunity to close out every single one of those games in the Finals, but their own mistakes saw the title go to the Knicks instead. The same could definitely happen to Aprilia if they can't rein their riders in.

Epic. Collosal failure. The real failure wont be the fact that they lost. The real failure is that in a long time someone had the goods, all that is needed at the core. A bike faster than Ducati, 4 riders who can go fast on it. And they still failed. Which would further go to point out that the championship is not all about JUST speed and going fast.

I have some sympathy for them because they're up against an all-time great, but equally they've borderline imploded in the last two weekends. Will go down as a colossal missed opportunity if they blow it

Battling with Marquez and losing to him should be looked at more positively than negatively. However, the way things have gone for Aprilia, such as crashes, Martin taking out Bez in Hungary and Bez getting banned at Brno, losing from such a comfortable position will be a failure
