Raphinha was subbed off after sustaining an injury against Australia! What will losing him mean for Barca’s tough October?

dale.odonnell5d ago

More pressure on Gordon now. His goal for England against Czechia should put a spring in his step before returning to Barcelona. Raphinha is still a huge blow and would be for any team. Class player.

peter.lynch5d ago

Huge miss, such a player, but they’ve got the attackers to deal with that loss in my opinion, all looking very good up there 🔥

♥ 1

aaditya.krishnamurthy5d ago

Gordon, Adeyemi, and Jesus need to fill in for him - October is our toughest month and we cannot afford to slip in the big games against Real, Gala, and PSG. Hopefully Raphinha is fine but we signed these players for a reason - time to step up

What does Anthony Gordon need to do to justify his mammoth €80 million price tag?

dale.odonnell5d ago

Gordon needs to step up now Raphinha is likely to be out for a while.

eoin5d ago

Show he can be relief upon when injuries hit, like what has happened with raphinha

aaditya.krishnamurthy5d ago

I think it’s time he start showing some of this instincts to grab goals at Barca. He’s been selfless to a fault the first few games and is slowly losing his place to Adeyemi, and he needs to start bagging some goals

A big night of action for the Barca boys in the Nations League. But which player stood out to you the most?

peter.lynch7d ago

Yamal is the absolute man, what a a player 👏

aaditya.krishnamurthy8d ago

I’d argue Olmo should be rated higher, he looked really good, even better than Lamine imo.

🙂Add a comment…Open Discussion

Did Lamine Yamal confirm his case as the Ballon d'Or favourite in 5-goal thriller against England?

aaditya.krishnamurthy8d ago

I don’t think his case was ever dependent on this game, but he was really good. I just think the Spanish set up is a little more conservative and he doesn’t play nearly as clinically as he does with Barca.

leeclarke05088d ago

Not really. Scored then missed loads of chances. Didn't really know he was playing.

Would Barca failing to win the Champions League this season be considered a failure? 🫣

freddie11d ago

Not a failure but they gotta push for it! Can see them getting to a semi/final

eoin11d ago

I really do fancy them to do It. I just think Rodri was the missing piece, that attack is a joke

♥ 1

george.patten11d ago

No, but if they don’t make the semis or final it will be. A club of Barcas stature can’t wait too long before winning it again

Are Barcelona the best team in the world right now? What team will pose the biggest threat to them in Spain and Europe?

dantowen8195112d ago

It’s them or Bayern - two of the best frontlines I’ve ever seen in European football

james.brooke12d ago

Still PSG for me. Barca finally need a deep run in the Champions League, cant claim to be the best without

Is Raphinha the best goalscorer in the world right now? If not, then who?

pranav.shahaney13d ago

In terms of pure goal scoring I would not say he’s the best. I think Mbappe and Kane are better goal scorers in that regard. And this comes from someone who’s loved Raphinha even before he joined Leeds

peter.lynch14d ago

He’s absolutely flying, definitely up there among the best but not sure he’s number one. Will be a thrilling race for the golden boot ⚽️

eoin14d ago

On form its not a debate. He Heard barca wanted Álvarez and started putting Up Haaland numbers 🫪

🙂Add a comment…Open Discussion

A Raphinha hat-trick sees Barca beat Sevilla 3-1! What did you think of the game?! 💪

dantowen8195115d ago

The best centre-forward in the world! To think I used to watch him as a young right-winger at Elland Road 🤣I knew he was good but never this good

dale.odonnell15d ago

Raphinha is taking responsibility as he leads the line for Barcelona. Never in doubt. 🔥

If Hansi Flick can win the Champions League this season, where would he rank among Barcelona’s all-time greatest coaches?

freddie18d ago

Barca have such a good chance, they’ve been amazing so far this season but still need to face someone proper! He’d be top 3 I reckon. Nowhere near Pep tho

dale.odonnell18d ago

Still behind a few.

eoin18d ago

Champions League would be huge now. If he does that and wins a third league in a row, Hes Surely flirting with top 3.

Harry Kane, Erling Haaland and Julian Alvarez have all been linked with Barcelona, but who would be the best fit and why if they were to join?

caleb.sage18d ago

Kane. It’s not enough for a striker to just be a goalscorer at Barcelona, and Kane offers more than just that.

ishaan.bhattacharya18d ago

Haaland is coming one day 👀 Get any defender in the meantime to be Cubarsi's long-term partner

pranav.shahaney18d ago

It depends on what Barcelona want. If they want a treble winning/challenging squad now, then go out and get Kane. With how Raphinha is playing, he can play in behind Kane and the duo can keep interchanging positions with Yamal offering a threat from the right. A super team really. Although, if Flick is looking to build a team for 4-5 years, sign Alvarez

Here's our predicted lineup for the game against Racing Santander! 🔥 But which players do you want to see get a start? 👀

jamesshearman2318d ago

Hansi Flick's Barcelona have scored 26 goals in six games already. Can their explosive attack continue covering up their defensive issues?

ishaan.bhattacharya19d ago

This style wins leagues for sure, Flick has proven that without a shadow of a doubt. We're just waiting to see if this style can bring us our first CL in over a decade. That's the standard Flick is being judged against. Harsh? Maybe

aaditya.krishnamurthy19d ago

Bilbao decided to play hardball and demand 80 mil for a 34 year old - he could’ve been the missing piece

eoin19d ago

Such a shame we couldnt get Laporte through the door this summer. Defensive frailties could be costly, but wow barca are fun to watch.

Lamine Yamal's electric performance against Feyenoord powers Barcelona in another goal-fest

ishaan.bhattacharya24d ago

Hansi Flick knows he has a generational talent on his hands and has found the perfect way to exploit his strengths not only for his good, but to make Barca's attack unstoppable. Incredible stuff

🙂Add a comment…Open Discussion

Some standout performances from our stars on Wednesday night! But which player impressed you the most?

ishaan.bhattacharya24d ago

Barcelona have almost 17 legitimate first-team players. Quality is oozing out if the squad and Flick has found a way to make them all perfectly compatible with each other 🔥

aaditya.krishnamurthy24d ago

It’s hard not to just say Raph each time but I’m going to give a lot of credit to Cubarsi - his experience and maturity at the back is really starting to show and he’s stepping up as a leader in defense

dancoombs24d ago

I think Yamal hitting form is the most important

A five-star performance to kick-off Barcelona's Champions League campaign! What impressed you most about the win?

dantowen8195125d ago

Can we end the debate about Barca needing a striker? Raphinha is not just one of the worlds best forwards but one of the worlds best centre-forwards!

seanfisher25d ago

Barca are just ready to outscore everyone in Europe. So good going forward and Rodri gives them such a strong foundation

Barcelona are ridiculously good going forward. Even off the bench, every option doesn’t weaken them. CL favourites

Where will Rodri rank among Barca’s all-time great signings? 👀

aaditya.krishnamurthy25d ago

Hard to say right now but his impact could rival that of Dinho, Suarez, and Lewandowski in terms of (re)legitimising us in Europe and helping us win the big one would slot him in the top 10 for me

Barcelona can start their 2026-7 UEFA Champions League campaign with a win with this XI against Feyenoord

aaditya.krishnamurthy26d ago

I can see Adeyami and Jesus starting, given that Feyenoord aren’t that strong, and it could give both some key CL minutes

dale.odonnell26d ago

Easy win for Barcelona.

Is Lamine Yamal your favourite to win the Ballon D’Or, and if not, who is? 👀

The Spanish youngster seems to be taking a dig at Kylian Mbappe for his recent comments! 🔥

markmarston26d ago

Harry Kane should win in unquestionably. Shouldn’t be a team award

james.brooke26d ago

Yamal didn’t deserve to be anywhere near it last year and came second, so he is right. The award has pretty much lost all credibility anyway, so who actually cares

dantowen8195126d ago

Yamal didn’t have a great World Cup though! I think this may count against him. It’s a really interesting battle these days, because a lot of the favourites either disappointed at the World Cup or fell short in the Champions League

peter.lynch28d ago

Gordon absolutely flying, I can’t believe how quickly he’s found he’s feet, impressive! 👏

aaditya.krishnamurthy28d ago

I’m loving our fluidity in attack! Yes we’ve not played the best teams yet, but 17 goals in 4 games is brilliant and almost everyone except Jesus has had a hand in the goals! Plus, another clean sheet, always important!

Thoughts on Barca's squad depth after the end of the summer transfer window?

aaditya.krishnamurthy31d ago

For all the good work Deco did, he should’ve prioritised an LCB signing like Lukeba or Laporte

ishaan.bhattacharya32d ago

That defensive depth looks catastrophic. Winter additions or more Masia graduates are bound to fill the gaps, otherwise this is an absolutely ELITE squad

Call it now - Which Barcelona player will prove to be the signing of the season, and why? 👀

dantowen8195132d ago

I’ll say Gordon! Cleary got that unselfish steak that will win over the fans really quickly - really loving his partnership with Raphinha already

♥ 1

ishaan.bhattacharya32d ago

Can we get a cheeky Jesus surprise? 👀 (Probably not)

♥ 1

aaditya.krishnamurthy33d ago

Most people are going to say Rodri for obvious reasons, but I think it’ll be Gordon! He’s fit in seamlessly with the team and has an air of confidence around him. He’ll massively boost the attack, while Rodri will only make an already excellent midfield even better!

Ruud Nijstad has been linked with a deadline day move to Barca! How do you think he’d fare alongside Pau Cubarsi?

aaditya.krishnamurthy33d ago

I’m not too sure about him, but his numbers at Twente definitely look good. Personally, I’d like a more experienced center back alongside Cubarsi, just to keep him in check

Raphinha continues his electric start to the season with two goals in Barcelona's 5-2 win against Rayo Vallecano 🔥 Where does he rank among the best attackers in football right now? 🤔

dantowen8195132d ago

This is why I don’t get the criticism of Barca not signing a no 9 - Raphinha can be one of the best centre-forwards in the world

dancoombs33d ago

It’s such a shame he was injured end of last season and carried that into the World Cup

♥ 1

aaditya.krishnamurthy33d ago

He had a down year last year, but people forget that 24-25 Raphina was one goal away from possibly being a Balon D’Or winner! IMO on his day, one of the world’s best 🔥

This is our predicted Barca XI against Rayo Vallecano! What changes would you make to this lineup? 👀

aaditya.krishnamurthy34d ago

I’d actually be happy to try Adeyami as a starter, think his electric pace will take enough attention from that Rayo low block and give Raphina and Fermin to make some good plays!

Gabriel Jesus signs with Barca for £8.5 million! 👀 What does this mean for Julian Alvarez's future?

eoin35d ago

For the price, id say Its a 7 , but It really depends on if he can stay fit. Solid backup option

aaditya.krishnamurthy35d ago

Oh wow! Didnt see this coming. I’ll give it a 7 - admittedly I’m not a Jesus fan but for 10 million and just on a 1+1 contract, he could be the perfect stopgap before we go into the market for a more serious striker. And I trust Flick in that he won’t play a signing he doesn’t think he can get something out of in his system. Glad to have some depth again! 🔥

What is the best solution for Alejandro Balde this summer?

dancoombs40d ago

eoin40d ago

Feels rash to write him off, was a top 3 lb in Europe 12 months ago

aaditya.krishnamurthy40d ago

Been a huge fan of Balde since his debut, but I think his drop off last year has cost him his spot. If the team think it’s better to move on then I hope we at least get a good price for him!

Rodri was introduced to Barcelona fans for the first time before their pre-season friendly against Al Ahly, but what would define a successful season for the midfielder?

kyle.dimond45d ago

Hopes will be champions league. Rodri is certainly capable of bridging that gap for them but it’s hard to tell. He was outstanding at the World Cup but there will still be injury concerns

eoin45d ago

I think this is barcas year, arguably have the two best midfielders and best winger in the world. Strong argument that too

shamanth.jayaram46d ago

Got to be the Champions League. Really interested to see how much control he can bring to Barca’s midfield out of possession in Europe. If he gets it right, Barca could become unbeatable

Around €75m for Rodri! Can’t tell if that’s good or bad. He’s amazing, best ITW, but he is 30…

aaditya.krishnamurthy49d ago

For what we’re going to get out of him in terms of mentoring the next gen, it’s going to be so worth it - finally a proper Busquets replacement who can pass the mantle to the next gen when it’s time. I love the move and I’m sure some of those variables are going to get avoided - City saw this with Ferran, we’ll do it again

🙂Add a comment…Open Discussion

Anthony Gordon had his first training session with Barcelona today, but what should the minimum expectation be for the winger this season?

dantowen8195155d ago

He’s gonna need numbers to rival Rashford and Ferran Torres. Apart from that, needs some big performances in the Champions League - where Rashford struggled in big moments Barca I think signed Gordon with the UCL in mind. Someone who can press and stretch defences against top teams

freddie55d ago

To match Rashford’s return. His work rate is far better so that will make him liked. But if he played anything like he did vs Mexico, he’s gonna be a real star! I hope it works out for him tbh

kyle.dimond56d ago

As long as he’s better than Rashford was, I think that’s fine for a first season. Has time and this will be a lot of changes.
