Some transfer gossip to read into over the international break. Krépin Diatta is a free agent after his Monaco contract expired in June. 👀

dantowen819515d ago

Interesting one - Monaco paid about £15m for him a few years ago. Injuries are the issue though, as you might expect given he’s a free agent at 27

Kevin Phillips backs Michail Antonio to shine at Watford

Former Sunderland striker Kevin Phillips believes the signing of Michail Antonio will prove beneficial on and off the pitch for Watford. Do you agree? 🤔

eoin18d ago

Would love to see him do well. Experience and physicality are both needed

He’ll be a great influence on the dressing room, and I can see him scoring 8+ goals in the Championship.

Watford couldn't make it back-to-back wins after a 2-1 defeat against Stoke City. Thoughts?

markmarston21d ago

Poor result but to be expected… this team will always blow hot and cold. The makeup of the team is that nature

dale.odonnell22d ago

It’s been a LONG time since Watford last won a match away from home… 👀

Alessio Dionisi has confirmed that Michail Antonio will speak with Watford over the coming days before deciding whether to join the Hornets. Would the 36-year-old be a good signing for Watford?

charlesjones23d ago

Worth a punt for a club like Watford. If it works he can be such a difference maker

jordan.harris23d ago

Can’t see it being a good move tbh. No way he can be the player he once was

Watford lost 1-0 away to West Brom. Thoughts? 🤦‍♂️

dale.odonnell27d ago

Disappointing result for Watford, especially when West Brom’s goal was avoidable…

Watford opened their account with a super win vs Southampton... have we made a mistake with our predictions? 🫣

charlesjones47d ago

Early shocks are nothing new in this league. First 10 games are basically a write off

freddie47d ago

I had them to go down… but that performance was impressive! Maybe like a 15th

george.patten47d ago

Watford are impossible to predict pre-season. Who knows who will be in charge by the end of it all

Nestory Irankunda is heading to Sporting for just over £15m. Who is your dream replacement? 🤔

markmarston60d ago

Not good at all… this was a big worry this summer. Really think Watford might be in a relegation battle

If you could bring back one former Watford player, who would you go for? 🐝

Deeney! How Watford need his personality and finishing these days

markmarston75d ago

Easy one for me… I absolutely loved watching this man. Such a shame he’s been plagued by injuries

Here’s some random stats & facts about Watford FC:

chillout92d ago

Under manager Graham Taylor from 1977, Watford went from the bottom of the Fourth Division to the top tier of English football in just 5 years. While playing for Watford, Luther Blissett became the first black footballer to score a Hat-trick for the English national team, against Luxembourg in 1982.

Pick one Watford manager who didn't deserve to be sacked

dantowen81951116d ago

I thought Javi Gracia the first time was moved on far too quickly

Where does Troy Deeney rank in the list of Watford legends?

dantowen81951116d ago

Right up there. Everyone remembers the DEENEY! moment but he was a solid goalsocrer in the Prem too

24 permanent head coaches / managers in the 14 years of Pozzo family ownership doesn’t auger well for Alessio Dionisi, who some fans feel will be gone by October. What has Watford got to prevent them from walking into a relegation fight next season ?

caleb.sage119d ago

Disastrous end to last season! You’re right, if they’re not careful, they’re going to find themselves in a fight for survival at some point. Have had some good moments under Pozzo ownership, but think Leicester have shown the past doesn’t mean anything in the Championship.

Watford are embarrassingly run under the Pozzo family. They treat players and managers like a bargain bin stock portfolio. The Hornets will never achieve any success under this shoddy ownership.

Might have to just take the hit and try to ride it out this season. Zero momentum but that’s not going to change when this is what being Watford manager looks like

My next Watford manager would be...

dantowen81951119d ago

How long is Alessio Dionisi lasting? Says so much about Watford that I’m expecting him gone by November

Where would Watford be if the Pozzo family never took over?

dantowen81951119d ago

I mean, it has worked so well recently with Udinese! Surely there’s some lessons that can be learned there

callum_boyle119d ago

They have done some good but the bad far outweighs the positive. A laughing stock due to their revolving door of managers and high turnover of players. Uninspiring
