24 permanent head coaches / managers in the 14 years of Pozzo family ownership doesn’t auger well for Alessio Dionisi, who some fans feel will be gone by October. What has Watford got to prevent them from walking into a relegation fight next season ?

Disastrous end to last season! You’re right, if they’re not careful, they’re going to find themselves in a fight for survival at some point. Have had some good moments under Pozzo ownership, but think Leicester have shown the past doesn’t mean anything in the Championship.

Watford are embarrassingly run under the Pozzo family. They treat players and managers like a bargain bin stock portfolio. The Hornets will never achieve any success under this shoddy ownership.

And because it’s so shoddy. The reputation will harm them trying to attract exciting players and managers

Might have to just take the hit and try to ride it out this season. Zero momentum but that’s not going to change when this is what being Watford manager looks like

Standard of championship is going up this season, I'd be worried for Watford

I think for a while the owners felt justified for a while when they were regularly getting back into the Premier League, but now it feels like the wheels are starting to fall off. They need to start giving managers more time, as top coaches are probably being put off by the lack of job security.

Massive squad overhaul needed in the summer. So much deadwood in that team right now

And give Kjerrumgaard more service

It seems obvious to say it but give a manager time. The Pozzo way of thinking has not worked in years! Zero momentum from the end of the season so it’s a bit of a worry

How long are you giving Alessio Dionisi? 😂

I’ve read they’re changing their recruitment model to bring in a lot more British players with experience of the league. Pair that with some of the gems they recruit from overseas and they could be in for a special season. I don’t think top six is unrealistic, they were quite patchy last term and still managed to get close.

Glad to see some change in their strategy. They were sleep walking towards more failure

At least that might give them some stability that the revolving door of managers doesn’t

Sign some decent players. Their squad looks a mess right now and there’s clearly not much long term planning

It can’t be easy getting players to Watford 😂 they talk to the manager, get on well with him, and then find out he’s been sacked

Find a young, hungry manager with a point to prove and stick with him. Give him time. The owners’ hire and fire policy clearly hasn’t worked
seanfisher3mo ago
That’s what’s baffling to me. It hasn’t worked. It never really worked. Why do they stick with it?
