← West Ham vs Millwall / Championship game 8

It ends 2-2 in the derby! What did you make of that?

At least the fight back is a positive!

markmarston2w ago

Millwall away one of the toughest fixtures in the league - decent result. Move on

cumberworth572w ago

We just cannot keep conceding 2 goals virtually every game, it will cost us in the end! Perhaps it’s time for Nuno to man up and play Alverez in front of the back 4, we have been crying out for a quality CDM all season.

dantowen819511w ago

It’ll be really interesting to see what happens with Alvarez. He’s not in the Mexico squad for the international break so this will be the time for him and Nuno to have some clear the air talks

cocknykid2w ago

defending in the first half was diabolical kilman was poor turned his back to the first goal need to make changes and fast to our defense drop kilman we showed no fight in the first half to sluggish all over the pitch why we keep playing slow build up and keep passing sideways football is beyond me we have never been a full 90 minute team always good in one

vhealy142w ago

pleased to see west ham stand up in the second half and the team for the draw after it seems being tested .lets keep it goinglads

laurajr19582w ago

They certainly made it very hard for themselves. Very poor in the first half but redeemed themselves in the second. Was a point well earned.

dantowen819512w ago

I thought we’d go on and win it at 2-2. Can’t be too annoyed at Kante though. He looked like an absolute giant in every sense on the pitch today

clint642w ago

I think the way the first half went, we should be happy on getting a point..

dantowen819512w ago

Yep, Nuno has had a lot of stick for his game management, but his subs recently have made a big impact Bowen and Taty at Southampton, Veltman at Bolton, Austbo vs Derby, and then Pablo and Kante today

wendy.a.james2w ago

I was embarrassed watching the tv during first half - fortunately I was on my own! Defensive frailty exposed again, Kilman literally turned his back to defend, or lack of defend, one of the goals. Dino was usual mix of good & bad but at least he scored yet another vital goal. Much relief at the final whistle

dantowen819512w ago

Me too 🤣I’d given up hope at half time. Genuinely thought it could’ve been three or four Never have I seen a player less equipped for such an occasion than Max Kilman

chrisbergin642w ago

Kilman and mavro very poor,Peters kept giving the ball away, so that's three out of four at the back ,it needs sorting out.Good come back ,lucky draw

dantowen819512w ago

Yep, the two center-backs were dreadful. Classic Mavro performance, like vs Fulham and Wolves - a massive threat in the opposition penalty area but a nightmare in his own

pranav.shahaney2w ago

West Ham would’ve taken this at the start of the season. They’re still on course to win the title

paul.joycey682w ago

Shocking 1st hour, couldn't match intensity, aggression, heart or desire. Too many wayward simple passes. Big blokes in the box long throw HOPELESS. Good subs and ground out a point

dantowen819512w ago

Yep, I think looking back, Nuno would’ve started Pablo and Kante. Their physicality was much missed in the first half, could’ve done with Soucek too

darennightingale712w ago

Pablo deserves more game time if I was Nuno I would stick him up front as the main attacker for the next couple of games as he is hungry to score.

cumberworth571w ago

He’s not good enough, 1 goal and 1 other attempt at goal in 25 games or so for a £20m striker is terrible. We need to play 1 up top, alternate Taty and Piroe during games and play an extra midfielder, preferably Alverez, to stiffen up the team otherwise we will keep leaking goals especially away to decent teams.

dantowen819512w ago

This was a game made for Pablo I think. Dare I say he’s got the makings of a cult hero?

matthew.johns2w ago

Decent result for West Ham in the circumstances, this derby has been a long time coming!

jonathan.gorrie2w ago

Fair play for coming back but that attitude in the second half is literally the least you can ask for. Dreadful before that

james.brooke2w ago

Great point, no two ways about it

camerondesc12w ago

That’s a huge point. Really thought West Ham were dead and buried after going two down.

jordan.harris2w ago

A point at the Den when you’re not at it is never a bad result. However, no excuse for how they played in that first half

chillout2w ago

Yes, that first half performance is a worry - maybe this is a wake up call.

martin.crawford2w ago

Shoutout to Kante for the red. Best I’ve seen in a a while

dantowen819512w ago

Hahah shades of Solskjaer in 98

chillout2w ago

Shows we have got our spirit back. There will be games like this in the Championship - where you have to dig deep to get something. Another good omen for West Ham’s recent recovery. A big positive in the end.

markmarston2w ago

Yep - you’ve learned the team has plenty of spirit and resilience through that result… even if it was frustrating not to win. Good three week rest now

dantowen819512w ago

Yeah, frustrating not to beat our big rivals but a point at Millwall from 2-0 down is far from a bad result I think people forget this is the best Millwall side in years too

dantowen819512w ago

A truly bizarre game of football. Game of two halves, 2-0 is a dangerous scoreline - all the cliches apply Dreadful in the first half. Cowardly really. But much improved after the break. Big credit to Kante, Pablo and Nuno’s changes

dale.odonnell2w ago

Incredible comeback with a man sent off after the equaliser. There wasn’t much faith shown in Nuno on here at half time, but credit when it’s due surely? 👀

dantowen819512w ago

Absolutely. Think the first half was more down to the players - Nuno spoke on Friday about how important it was to be fired up for this, clearly it fell on deaf ears
