Where does Freedom 250 rank among the greatest UFC events ever?

Joe Rogan labelled it the 'greatest night in combat sports history'

augustinejtrujillo3w ago

I would say Noche at the Sphere was #1 and Freedom #2.

UFC 1,2,3, and 4 was some of the best raw fights. No weight class,Only 2 rules, No Bitting or eye gouging. No time limit, the only ways to win was by knock out, Submission (tap out) or the corner threw in the towel. To bad Bruce Lee didn't live to see his vision become reality.

Up there my top 3 are: UFC Freedom 250, UFC 300, & UFC 217, but UFC 251 is a sleeper pick.

Not a fan of the White House location, the band (wtf would you play YMCA live at a fight…gay). But the main event made the card imo. Someone mentioned the other fights were way too one sided. I agree. Great KOs and finishes but could’ve had better competitive matchups.

One of the reasons The White HOUSE EVENT was so great was because for the first time, they had a real live band! It makes a huge difference! Inexperienced promoters have NO idea about this! But it's real!!!

Genuinely was so surprised to see some people not liking this aspect. I thought it was a great idea that they pulled off really well.

Not a fan of Trump BUT this card was electric. First time in UFC history that every fight ended with a KO/TKO. I'd say UFC 300 was the greatest card and Freedom 250 is probably the 2nd best. Gaetje doing in Topuria the way he did was nothing short of spectacular. Gane finish of Pereira was expected. Not sure about the bonks to the back of his head though.

They were good fights but I wouldn't call it the greatest, I've seen better.

riotgrafix3mo ago

It deff had some of the best fights. I didnt like the live music or boringness in-between fights but it was a great celebration for the troops.

dr.cheyno3mo ago

Not bad but fights were too one sided. Hokit vs Lewis, Nickal vs Daukas, Ruffy vs Chandler and O'Malley vs Zhihabi were all way too one sided

kyle.dimond3mo ago

Agreed. First fight and the last two really shone because of that.

azninjamaster3mo ago

It was way better than I expected but what really put it over the top was the fact we didn't see a 3rd round until the final fight, which was an amazing underdog win. Couldn't have been better IMHO

harvey.leonard3mo ago

Not really interested in anything but the fights. From that perspective it delivered, but did not top UFC 300

edmond80843mo ago

Absolutely

dugmoogle3mo ago

Dana looked like a bum , a sut no tie and tennis shoes at the whitehouse with the president ! Anik , Cormier and Rogan out classed you

mike12yankees3mo ago

Not sure

jamie.theodosi3mo ago

From a spectacle point definitely the best. I actually enjoyed how it was only 7 fights, I think there’s a lot to learn from that format. Not always a case where more fights the better.

kyle.dimond3mo ago

Best I can do is at least 12 fights next weekend at the Apex

jameslloyd14.jl3mo ago

I tried with it last night, couple of fights I wanted to see, but had to put it off. Revolting spectacle

jusboes3mo ago

Lame

jamie.theodosi3mo ago

What didn’t you like about it?

jordan.ellis3mo ago

It's up there. 7 fights, 7 finishes. Huge main event upset. You can't really have written a better script. The only downside was the weather stuff.

markmarston3mo ago

Yeah be an absolute landslide

kyle.dimond3mo ago

It probably tops it from a spectacle point of view with Sphere in second. That being said, while it ended very strong, the Hokit and Ruffy wins were so one-sided that it hurt the momentum a bit for me personally. That and the AI promo videos. That being said, still a great event overall.
