Where did Alex Pereira go wrong after losing his heavyweight debut?
'Poatan' is now in an awkward position after leaving light heavyweight

Excuses and the long term pouting instead of admitting he had a rough night and he'd work on it and come back stronger was a bummer for me. I didn't enjoy that side of Poaton. There was zero shame in losing to a natural HW with natural hw power and the elite striking to go with it. Not to mention Gane was on target that night

Pereira went directly to one of the top two guys instead of fighting someone with a lower rank, so he lost. I think he can beat some of the other guys in the top 15 at heavyweight, then drop back down to light heavyweight to become champion again and retire.

I think light heavyweight was his sweet spot. Hoping he goes back there and rack up title defenses

Fr, his legacy is gunna be fine. Gotta respect the fact he wants to take on new challenges. He's done more than most in the short time He's been in the UFC.

He became fat like DC to move up instead of increasing muscle mass

Yeah a kickboxer needs so much more muscle.. like he doesn't already 😂

It will be very difficult for him to go back down to 205, but I think that is what he must do ir retire.

In the heavyweight division, it’s basically whoever lands first a lot of the time… Pereira isn’t a big mover so not sure this class suits him

Did Alex’s ass look abnormally huge at heavyweight?

First think me and my fiance noticed lol. I think Alex matches good against every heavyweight except Gane and Aspinall. They should've made him fight through the heavyweight division and get used to heavyweights before putting him against the top contender imo

Still like the decision to move up. Would like him to stay. Hokit fight has made itself at this point

He wasn't offensive

He'll be just fine. Give up on the heavyweight division. Those big boys are used to carrying that weight around. Go back to light heavyweight, get the belt back, all is good.

I just dunno if that interests Pereira much. He'll likely be a big favorite to beat Ulberg.

I still think he made the right call to move up. He ended up in a worse position because he didn't get the Jones fight and couldn't fight for undisputed due to Aspinall's injury. I just think Gane's style and him being a natural heavyweight caused him a lot of issues.

There weren’t really any compelling fights for him at LHW, still aren’t. I think he made the right decision.

Ulberg? Ank?

Easy to say now. I applaud him trying to achieve greatness. No shame in falling short.
