Brighton can’t seriously think Van Hecke is worth £70m with one year left on his deal? All that Chelsea money has gone to their heads!

You’re paying for what they think he will become I suppose. In a couple of years, they probably feel he’s going to be one of the top ball-playing defenders in the world.

He’s 26

He’s worth whatever Brighton say he is, to be fair
james.brooke4mo ago
Fair enough, he’ll be worth nothing in a year rhen

Given how the market is, you cannot really blame them. Van Hecke was among the best defenders in the Premier League last season. He’s 25, likely to hit his prime in a few years. I understand their POV.

I definitely can blame them. He was not and never has been one of the best defenders in the Premier League and they could lose him for nothing in 12 months

If they actually get anything over £60m this market is mental
james.brooke4mo ago
Just ridiculous mate, he’s not even worth £60m with 3/4 years left on his deal
jamie.brown824mo ago
Spurs shouldn’t be paying anymore than £40m for him MAX!
james.brooke4mo ago
What did Spurs actually bid? £40m is genuinely a slight overpay

Honestly, how do you make £70m your FIRST bid 😂 that’s the sort of take-it-or-leave-it fee you chuck at a club when you’ve had 3 offers rejected

I don't know what's more insane Spurs bidding close to that or Brighton not accepting it!
