What do you make of Enzo Maresca's comments on Erling Haaland's controversial goal in Man City's win vs Man United 👀
aaditya.krishnamurthy2w ago
Surely there’s a way to make that point without being dismissive of your best player
kyle.dimond2w ago
I can understand his viewpoint because he’ll be incredibly proud of the players and I think he managed the game brilliantly. Both deserve to be spoken about but obviously the goal was going to be the big topic

A cheat representing cheats. 🚮
jordan.harris2w ago
Yeah, that goal was totally irrelevant to the game. Give him a break lads 🤦♂️
peter.lynch2w ago
The only moment of note in the entire game, of course it’s all people are gonna focus on!! He should just be happy with getting through it with three points and getting away with that goal 😅
tom.procter2w ago
He has to expect it’s what most people are gonna talk about and why wouldn’t they. To award the goal was a shocker of a decision. But I admire him all the same for saying this as it’s definitely gotten lost just how good the performance was

All these decisions get brushed under the carpet anyway, been so many VAR errors over the years that it becomes the norm and is forgotten in a week so he probably doesn’t care. Man United have gotten away with many over the years

Spot on Luke. All in a week’s work for this bunch of idiot refs
chillout2w ago
The incident has stirred up a lot of growing resentment about the performance of referees and VAR officials. Why are the major talking points after games still about referees and officials ? The manager is correct in pointing out that City played well under pressure, but poor decisions are being made that change games - and that’s rightly being highlighted .
george.patten2w ago
I mean he is obviously going to say that isn’t he 😂. Hardly going to encourage more debate about the decision. Shouldn’t be overlooked how City outplayed United though. Bad decision or not, United couldn’t get the job done vs 10 men
eoin2w ago
City were clearly the better side while down a man, deserved a lot of credit. That said, lets not act like this wasnt a massive incident

Typical Maresca - great tactician and manager, crap in front of the media
jamie.theodosi2w ago
He has a point, but also it’s a big talking point so it’s going to be addressed a lot. But I do think both teams had things go their way so it equals out.
callum_boyle2w ago
It was quite a big debate in fairness so it’s never going to go away. Equally, he is right that not enough praise for the way they adapted with 10 men is being handed out
