I still believe this guy is far far overestimated. I don’t see him (at his age)beating the talented MotoGP guys. What makes fans, love this guy so much? Only because he became Superbike champion?

I wouldn't say he is overestimated. Toprak is one of the most talented riders from recent years (as he proved by winning two titles with BMW) The 2026 season won't be a good benchmark for Toprak due to Yamaha being so terrible. However, with the Pirelli tyres and hopefully an improved Yamaha in 2027, he should be closer to the front.

I think we are not seeing Toprak's true worth in MotoGP while he is on the V4 Yamaha. Not sure which bike he would be suited to, to be at the front, but this bike is not it. I feel bad for him. He is getting older, and this contract will maybe be his last unless they figure out the bike.

He did what was expected given how uncompetitive the bike is at the moment and also that he is unable to get the seating position ( Toprak sits in a bike not on it as is the case at the moment with the Yamaha ) to his liking! The Michelin tyres must also be hindering him big time just wait until he gets the bike to his liking on Perellis and watch him go

Given Yamaha's situation, Toprak's debut probably went as expected,, but I did hold out hope that he would score points
