I doubt we will see a surprise winner. It would be nice for Ogura to get on the podium, but can't see him winning.

He was really impressive last year in Thailand, so I really wouldn't put it past Ogura going beyond his debut and securing his MotoGP maiden win at Buriram on Sunday.

Ai Ogura finished P5 on his MotoGP debut in the 2025 Thailand Grand Prix and secured P4 in the Sprint Race, as he used his learnings from last year's Buriram test to hit the ground running. So, a maiden podium could well be on the cards for Ogura in the 2026 edition if the race plays out in his favour, but a first win will be very unlikely.
