Will Alex Eala win a Grand Slam in 2027?

nashmanly4402d ago

No Overrated! Crowd support is better than her tennis! She may when a slam about 4 years shes been lucky on some matches but need more skills practice certain areas there are plenty of young players in Wta can beat players in top 10 besides Alex.

florentinoaman3d ago

Yes,if Alexandra Eala focus back on her dream less the fanfare she was getting..

mcdelfin553d ago

Unless her serve improves dramatically, she will face more grand slam disappointments in 2027. I hope her team realizes that and implement the necessary changes.

winfrednarccortsey3d ago

Eala winning a slam I don't see that happening, Iva Jovic will win 3 slams before Eala sniffs a slam final.

legaspijing564d ago

Why not?! 🙏❤️🇵🇭🫡

I don't believe she'll ever win a Grand Slam title in her career. While it's true she has beaten some highly-ranked players, she's also vulnerable to losing against any opponent, regardless of their ranking.

alteckid1w ago

Not yet. She has a good ground game and return of serves. But, if she could improve the speed of her serve to about 99 to 105 mph nxt year hen she might win wimbledon and us open

gumbynash71w ago

No way she's little overrated, she will win : Crowd support that's it!!!

ddrcura2w ago

I do not believe Alex Eala will ever win a Grand Slam let alone a WTA 1000 tournament. Her performances are inconsistent. She doesn't possess a winner instinct --- her US Open match with Jovic is good example. She was leading in the third set by two games yet she lost it. Her decision to play in the Asian Games is amateurish. Learn to be a pro.

E di wow!!!

sja19821w ago

While her being “inconsistent” could be based rationally on what’s witnessed and recorded, how can Eala’s decision to rep the Philippines and possibly qualify for the 2028 Olympics be “amateurish?” Her decision is very much a mature one, IMO, even to the extent of facing a US$10K fine which, by standards, is huge and definitely not an “amateur” amount…

cortezaferdinand12w ago

Positive Eala has beaten all rated WTA top 10, only his match up with Sabalenka is in the offing.

xce19622w ago

I hope so, everything is possible

agent.clark993w ago

What do you mean by "National duties always come first for her"? She skipped SEA GAMES for trying to qualify for FO in 2023.

allives.de3w ago

Alex Eala has had an extraordinary run in 2026, that has seen her rise in the global tennis hierarchy. It is something that draws no parallels in the history of the sport.

nashmanly4403w ago

NO!

sja19821w ago

What is “NO!”—“Eala won’t win”, or “Eala can’t and shouldn’t play in a slam or 1000s?” Is that comment based on facts, or disdain?

poonganesan3w ago

Wait and see.

ricovalb3w ago

Just an opinion. Wimbledon 2027 🇵🇭💪🏻

czar909133w ago

No, I don't think so.

lamskie19703w ago

Maybe. Remember, she STILL has to strengthen her serve, stamina, overall strength. Janice Tjen beat her because she was stronger. Parks beat her because she was stronger. Eala has, indeed, significantly improved. No question there. But she MUST get even stronger to win WTA titles.

jamesshearman233w ago

Highly unlikely but it would be amazing for the sport! Side note: how long before the Philippines Women’s Open becomes a big deal?

johnverrall113w ago

They need a big tournament there ASAP!

markmarston3w ago

Yep… she’s got momentum that’s for sure

kilham.max3w ago

I highly, highly doubt it. Has made great strides this year but still lacks the serve needed to challenge at the very top. However, her return is one of the best on Tour, so you never know!

leeclarke05083w ago

I don't think so. She will eventually but ultra competitive at the moment is the women's game and winning seven matches is hard for any young player.

tony.adepegba3w ago

Unless she improves her serve, I'm not sure she'll win a Grand Slam.

johnverrall113w ago

Agreed

neilalucier3w ago

YES

andrewjprevost4w ago

She could, but I think she needs to improve her serve to really reach the top of the game. That second serve is especially a liability against big hitters.

martin.orville234w ago

Wimbledon

getjeffrey4w ago

Nope 😂

george.patten4w ago

I think Wimbledon is definitely on the cards. Might be 2028, but we’ll see 🇵🇭

daviescallum424w ago

It’s impossible to predict given how strong the women’s game is. If it was going to be anywhere, it’d be Wimbledon or US Open I think. She definitely will in her career I think though

johnverrall114w ago

If she improves as much as she has over 2026 then she has a chance but ultimately I do think she’ll come up short against the very best even next yearx

bgzrnrrhz54w ago

yes of course💞

matthew.johns4w ago

Which Grand Slam do you think she will win?

peter.lynch4w ago

Still too soon I think, but I like her at the US Open most, think it suits her very well 🇺🇸

matthew.johns4w ago

I don't know if Eala will win a Grand Slam next year, but I do think she can make the quarters and possibly even the semis of either the Australian Open, Wimbledon or the US Open!
