Where does Carlos Alcaraz's forehand rank among the greatest of all time? šŸŽ¾

psychologyleo3w ago

If you mean grates are included Federer, Nadal or Djocovic, they are belong to last generation, today we have great forehand from Fonseca , Shelton , Jodar and…… but among them Carlos Alcaraz is the best , he is also a humble

ellashaynehopes3w ago

I’d like to hear John McEnroe respond

daviescallum423w ago

Johnny Mac thinks Alcaraz & Sinner would have beaten prime Nadal on clay, so we can probs guess he’d put them top of the pile

codzapple23w ago

+yea thats how he broke his arm+

sfowler27603w ago

3rd behind Sinner and Djokovic

kilham.max3w ago

Djokovic isn’t a bad shout, his forehand is very underrated. However, I can’t support Sinner over Alcaraz.

daviescallum423w ago

You think Sinner's forehand is better than Alcaraz's?!

cupola20083w ago

Great forehand for sure, especially a drop shot. I also favour Joao Fonseca and Arthur Fils on active tour. Pete Sampras also had the best running forehand IMO

daviescallum423w ago

Fonseca is a good shout, definitely has potential to be remembered as one if he can get a bit more consistency with the rest of his game and win a few major titles

junehenderson023w ago

Carlos is heading the right way to become one special player like Nadal and Federer don't forget carlos has only just come back from a big injury

kilham.max3w ago

Very true. Difficult to remember a more emphatic return.

george.patten3w ago

I think you have to wait till his career is over to say for sure. He’s already had one serious wrist injury… there’s a reason Delpo isn’t in this conversation anymore. A legendary forehand needs to be sustainable

Top

gerrymcd193w ago

Rod laver best forehand ever

rod_kelsay3w ago

Absolutely Laver. With his Dunlop Maxply, or any wooden racket, you actually had to hit a perfect shot to make that ball scream, not just somewhere on the strings. The technology is better now, not the players. Not sure how well Alcaraz would fare with a wooden racket, or even Connor's T2000.

johnverrall113w ago

Nowhere near the power of the modern players though

jackgallagher3w ago

It's up there but Rafa's is still untouchable

jamesshearman233w ago

I’m so biased but I’m going for Nadal. His banana shots were ridiculous

markmarston3w ago

Nadal ripped them from the back of the court with such precision and speed… does Alcaraz top the 🐐?

daviescallum423w ago

I think Federer & Alcaraz both had better forehands than Nadal 🤭

kilham.max3w ago

Nadal is my idol but I am struggling not to conclude that Alcaraz possesses the best!

chillout3w ago

In the top three of all time in my view. Not undisputed number one (yet), as Federer and Nadal could hit 50 forehands in a row without an unforced error - Alvarez still has moments of inconsistency. But he is probably the fastest and most powerful.

kilham.max3w ago

I think the only debate that can be had is Nadal's forehand on clay vs Alcaraz's on hard court/clay.

peter.lynch3w ago

Settle down Tim… can’t be saying that just yet, he’s not done as much as the legends of the game have to earn such a comment!

tom.procter3w ago

I think the only one that might be better is Nadal. Alcaraz’s is just unbelievable though the way he just rips it šŸ”„My favourite shot in tennis at the moment

leeclarke05083w ago

Yeah it's great but there is so much recency bias with this. He's probably got the best right now so Henman is misty eyed, got to really judge this stuff when his career is over really.

kilham.max3w ago

I honestly feel it could be the greatest! Sounds mad to say but it’s just an insane shot! Nadal on clay is the only forehand in the mix.

johnverrall113w ago

Can’t give it Alcaraz over Rafa yet SURELY!

daviescallum423w ago

I think technically, it probably is. Nobody has ever hit the ball faster than the pros do nowadays, and he’s the best. Federer’s is my favourite of all time though

camerondesc13w ago

It's top three for sure. Only Federer and Nadal to contend with. He hits it harder than those two I think, and when it's all said and done I think people will consider Alcaraz's as the best of all time.

matthew.johns3w ago

It’s definitely up there! However, I still don’t know if I can put it above Nadal’s and maybe even Del Potro’s just yet…
