Should Serena Williams be punished for skipping another press conference?

kilham.max3w ago

It’s just a bit disappointing to be honest! If you receive a wildcard you should fulfill your obligations!

daviescallum423w ago

They’re the biggest draw and they know it. This should compel them to help the media out, but weirdly they seem to use their status as a way to get away with doing as they please. A shame

peter.lynch3w ago

They should be treated as every other player right now, yeah, even with what they’ve both achieved

toby.kelly494w ago

No

tom.procter4w ago

She (and Venus) should get the same punishment as anyone else would get. Not that it would even affect them but it’s the principle

tanya.l.casper744w ago

They will always be sore losers!!! I'm just happy as hell there aren't any wildcards for them to weasel their way into the WTA Finals!!!😂

Both Williams are relics

Serena Williams is untouchable, she does what she wants, all her career she doesn't own any mistakes or disputes against her, doesn't give opponents credit at the time of the match if she gets beat, she has done it over and over again,it taints her record so much I feel.

If not a fine, then how do you punish people who do this? It's an impossible situation, the players have all the power

tufidonna4w ago

No. I don't think so. After the doubles match with Venus, there was no press personal waiting. They both provided great entertainment and I actually enjoyed the battle on both sides of doubles games. I would assume after more than 3 hrs and quite late over there in the US, it seem ok to go home.

camerondesc14w ago

Yes. Of course, like everyone else.

matthew.johns4w ago

I think so. They are absolute legends of the sport and that will never change, but the same rules should apply to everyone!

guilemike4w ago

I think she knows she has cancel culture on her side with race and gender. Her combo can get away with many things or you will be labeled and cancelled.

johnverrall114w ago

Yes. It just goes to show all the excuses for her skipping Wimbledon were ridiculous. She should have done it then and she should’ve have done it now. She’s a major draw and needs to realise she is not above speaking to the public, whatever way the result goes

george.patten4w ago

I’m going back to say no for doubles, but if she plays singles and does the same next year, then yes. She should be
