Predict the next WTA player to make their debut as world number one! 💭
Elena Rybakina has just become the 30th world number one since 1975 🥇

If Coco Gauff keeps on breaking her rackets will not be able to make it to number one in the world. She must learn how to control herself. Anyhow Elena Rybakina and Aryna Sabalenka will continue as # 1 and # 2 in the world. Mirra Andreeva is another contender. I don't know if Coco Gauff will make it .

Lol, when was the last time you saw Coco break a racket? And by the way what is that indicative of because Sabalenka was #1 for the past two years and definitely breaks rackets. But I love when people underestimate Coco, as she noted, it just provides fuel to her desire to be the best.

Coco. She is improving rapidly.

Pegula

Mirra - once she figures out how to properly throw a racket.

I am extremely proud of how Co Co played at the U.S. Open. She have made magnificent strides in her game. She has definitely raised her level of play.

The first 2 will continue to fight ir out for the next yr at least.

Rybakina is number 1 as of today, there won't be another debut player, Sabalenka will get it back in time, She is going to be U.S. Open Champion again 2026!!

Given that Gauff has made progress on her serve and forehand, despite the 1st set in the quarters, she's only going to get stronger. She's shown that she is as mentally tough as anyone in the women's game. I gonna go with her.

Rybakina is easily the toughest mentally in the woman's game. Jessica Pegula is very strong mentally, but just isn't fast enough to beat the very top players. Gauff, is anything but "mentally tough"!!
johnverrall113w ago
I don’t think Rybakina holds it for very long so I happy to predict Pegula. Still think she could win this and she’s super consistent

Adreeva, eventually. Even as French Open champion (Roland Garros my ass😁), there's still some immaturity in her game.
johnverrall113w ago
She definitely gets there at some stage but I think it might be another couple of years yet
bamamatt73w ago
Coco one day will be#1 when Sabalenka and Rybakina slow down and Coco becomes mentally tough enough.
johnreape0013w ago
Mental toughness isn't something you acquire. You are either born with it or not. Gauff is a great competitor, but is weak mentally under pressure.
kilham.max3w ago
Noskova I reckon. She was so close to beating Sabalenka and can see her winning multiple slams in 2027.
leeclarke05083w ago
Rooting for Gauff! Don't see Pegula as a world number 1 as good as she is, and not sure Andreeva is there just yet.
daviescallum423w ago
I think Gauff has it before the year is over!
jameslloyd14.jl3w ago
Probably Gauff but wouldn’t rule out Andreeva. Already top 5 at 19 and hasn’t got as many points to defend as those above her
matthew.johns3w ago
I back Coco, potentially even this year!
camerondesc13w ago
It will be Coco I think. She will be able to pick up a lot of points early next year if she makes deep runs at some tournaments.
george.patten3w ago
Pegula - She's so consistent, and can see her winning the US Open to close the gap.
peter.lynch3w ago
Coco Gauff for sure, think her time will come very soon 1️⃣

Jess Pegula
