What do you think Liverpool should do with Alexis Mac Allister's contract?

After his rocket against Atletico Madrid, should the Reds really be ignoring an extension for Mac Allister?

He very rarely has an impact on the game, when he’s good he’s worth keeping, but how often is he that good??? I think Liverpool should sell him, while he’s worth something, and put the money to invest in a younger more consistent midfielder, that would impress more often!!!

I disagree, I think he has a big impact. It isn't all about scoring goals, when he's at his best he really does break up the play and keep us ticking well. Top midfielder. I don't think we could easily replace him at all

The problem is, you’ve been proving for rounds now that you don’t really understand this game. In fact, what you say mostly stems from stupidity! Of course, that’s understandable, seeing as you’re British.

james.brooke2w ago

I’m guessing you’re here to defend Kerkez? Fire away, any defence will come from blinkered bias because he’s having a really poor season

I think Liverpool should renew his contract. She's been playing good for us & he really wants to stay. So, that shows dedication & motivation!

My honest opinion is perhaps he doesn't fit HC's plan moving forward. He has been a bit hit or miss and last season he was shocking but then so where so many other players. We have to think of the long term and Macca is not getting any younger

nedand3w ago

After his World Cup display after losing, he showed his lack of Liverpool values in his behaviour. I think that is why he's going.

james.brooke3w ago

I'm not sure Macca really did much wrong?

Renew it if he looks good this year. He's a top midfielder who will look better in a functional side (if LFC prove to be one). He and Gakpo were unfairly scapegoated more than anyone else for last season

tyler.knapp8633w ago

I wouldn't go that far, they were both two of our worst performers last season. No one covered themselves in glory outside of Ekitike and Szobozslai, but the midfield was completely overrun and watching Gakpo was like watching groundhog day. Every performance was almost exactly the same

dakir.thanveer3w ago

Gakpo was very frustrating to watch though! 😭 I blame Slot haha

james.brooke3w ago

Seems like he’s playing for one, which is good news in that a) we are way better when he is playing well and b) it means he actually wants to stay. Still think he’s our best and most important midfielder and on that basis it would be crazy to basically accept to let him go at this point. Begin talks and see what the expectations are and go from there

peter.lynch3w ago

I’m all for giving him a new deal, think it would be crazy not to, he does so much for us that is both noticed and unnoticed

james.brooke3w ago

I agree mate, and even if he doesn’t quite get back to what he was, what’s the harm? Will still make good money back on him if that’s what we want

jameslloyd14.jl3w ago

Difficult one but his recent performances can’t be ignored. Liverpool have simply been better since he’s been reinstated into the team

jordan.ellis3w ago

It must be earned. He was 💩 all last season. Play like he did tonight for the rest of this one, he’ll get his deal

james.brooke3w ago

I’m not sure he will still, feels a bit like the club have decided he isn’t getting one and that’s that. No doubt his agent will be keeping other clubs informed over the situation already, so at the moment I think this only goes one way. Happy to be proved wrong if he shows us his old self again though
