Who is the most influential Arsenal player in the history of the club and why - Henry, Adams, Bergkamp, Viera, Ian Wright, Liam Brady, David O’Leary, Bob Wilson, Cliff Bastin ? So many legends. Have your say.

Viera

Bergkamp that class he had and not just to be a top assist player but the goals he scored were unbelievable only Bergkamp could pull off the stuff he did and henry who as said already I don't think well see another same with viera captain marvel, and look at the prices the paid for these top players for instance viera £3.5 million

Bergkamp. Henry is their best player of all time but Bergkamp changed everything when they signed him from Inter.

I think Henry for me, but I never saw the older generation play. Can understand those who say Brady, Adams etc. Also, love Ian Wright!

The boring answer, but Henry. He has a huge influencef on the aesthetic of arsenal, elegante, quality, creativity.

Some of these were before my time so I’d say since I’ve been watching footy, Declan Rice. He was the missing jigsaw that ended the long wait for the Premier League title

Says a lot for how poor Arsenal have been for the past 20 years! Feel sad for anyone who didn’t witness Henry properly, although as a Liverpool fan I sometimes wish I hadn’t 😂

I’m so sorry mate, that is brutal
james.brooke6d ago
Sometimes the obvious answer is the right one. It’s Thierry Henry. Probably by a distance. David Rocastle maybe a shout? Before my time mind you

Got to be Henry. His influence is still felt to this day.

Influential for the Premier League era is surely Bergkamp! One of my favourites to watch and almost immediately elevated Arsenal. The greatest is Thierry though

A close second to Henry for me. But defo deserves to be up there in the conversation.

Herny, he helped turn Arsenal into the most stylish team around. So many of the greats in this generation and the last have him as an idol

Arsenal have had lots of greats. But Henry was just a different level. Their greatest ever and the best PL player of all time imo. Lethal pace, goalscoring, playmaking… just unbelievable

From the players I have seen I would have to go with Henry, not sure we will ever have another Arsenal player impact the game in the way he did.
seanfisher6d ago
I’d also say he had the most impact off the pitch too, he made millions tune in and follow Arsenal as their idol

Gonna go with Bergkamp. Just think his playing style was so unique in English football at the time and I don’t think Arsenal would’ve been able to find another player as creative to help them win their titles.

His goal against Leicester was amazing

I guess I have an issue with Henry - for me, his overall legacy will be forever tarnished by his actions for France to get to the 2010 World Cup finals. I accept, however, this question was specifically about Arsenal careers.
callum_boyle6d ago
That has nothing to do with his Arsenal career and I say that as someone who was on the verge of tears as a kid because he knocked Ireland out with a handball
james.brooke6d ago
If that’s the first thing you think of about Henry then you can’t have watched him much! Sensational in every aspect

It's all about generations here, I'm 39 and it's got to be Henry. I actually think he's probably the most influential player in Premier League history tbh.
chillout6d ago
Why ?
chillout6d ago
For me it has to be Brady - one of the most influential, elegant and intelligent players in the game ever. He was the future - and the key Arsenal player of his era.
