Swansea fans will feel more confident going into the new season - last term looked desperate in November, but Vitor Matos clearly was a good appointment and turned things round. Nothing less than a play-off place is expected next term. What does the club need to do to achieve this ?

Going to need Vipotnik to paper over some cracks again. Alarm bells if he leaves or doesn’t continue that same form

caleb.sage3mo ago

A bit leaky at the back, gotta sort that out! Vipotnik probably needs another 20 goal season as well.

Matos did so much better than anyone could have imagined. But how much was down to Vipotnik? The rest of the forward line looks very weak for me. And I don’t think Idah can be relied upon if Vipotnik goes

One guy carried the goalscoring, and the defence looked suspect. Their ceiling is not as high as it seems. It's a false reality. However, keep Vipotnik, and Matos for one full season, and playoffs are a possibility. Too many unknowns and dependencies otherwise

Matos is one of the young coaches I'm keeping a keen eye on! Looking forward to how he goes about it next season. On another note, who wants an all Welsh Championship play-off final next year? 👀👀👀

Wrexham v Swansea ?

As a Liverpool fan it has been brilliant to see Matos do so well. Klopp rated him REALLY highly and Matos seems to have taken a lot from working so closely with him in terms of the way he talks to his team and treats his players. Keeping him for a full season is way more important than keeping any of the players. Could see him leaving mid season

kyle.dimond3mo ago

Especially if he isn’t backed and thinks the side is going backwards.

josh.barker3mo ago

Even if he stays though the squad just isn’t good enough to compete at the very top, would take a big summer to even make the playoffs

jameslloyd14.jl3mo ago

Matos has given Swansea real momentum but they must build on and not stand still in order to reach the playoffs. Keeping key players (Vigouroux, Vipotnik), adding more quality and depth (Ben Davies?) and starting the season strongly

dantowen819513mo ago

Ben Davies is an interesting shout! Maybe bring him back with an option to go into the coaching staff

markmarston3mo ago

They had the top soccer in the champ which papered over the cracks. If he leaves this summer, which is likely, then I’d be a bit concerned as a fan… they could be looking over their shoulder

adam98williams3mo ago

Yup. Seen this happen so many times. Quality centre-forwards worth their weight in gold in the Championship

seanfisher3mo ago

Yeah beside Vipotnik, there is a scary lack of goals in the squad

charlesjones3mo ago

Vipotnik is the key here. Sell and reinvest well I think is the best way to go

james.brooke3mo ago

I think keeping Matos is more important. Looks like a potentially special coach

seanfisher3mo ago

23 goals last season, next best only got 6… that’s a big replacement job 😬

jamie.theodosi3mo ago

Vitor Matos looks like a really shrewd appointment, but they really need to improve their recruitment. Keeping Vipotnik and Galbraith will be key but I think that’ll be very difficult

jamie.brown823mo ago

Swansea managed just 2 clean sheets in final 13 matches, so definitely think some defensive reinforcements are required!

george.patten3mo ago

Agreed - Could do with a loan or two from the prem

jonny3mo ago

Keep Ethan Galbraith and make some smart signings this summer to add to him!
