Talk Sunderland

peter.lynch15h ago

Trai Hume and Dan Ballard would like a word… 😉

dantowen819511d ago

There’s some others worthy of a mention - Van Aanholt for £1.5m, Ballard for £2m, Roefs for £10m

None coming straight to my head from back in the day. Ill go modern and argue for Enzo Le Fee, maybe not within the fanbase but his quality isnt Appreciated enough. A proper playmaker Who has been a huge part of sunderlands recent success

markmarston3d ago

Maybe not underrated but Defoe was defo not appreciated for how good he actually was. He was at Sunderland later on in his career and he was still one of the best strikers in the league despite that not being the narrative at the time

dantowen819513d ago

Big fan of Hume - feels like he can play anywhere and perform at the same standard Phil Bardsley should be in the conversation too

dantowen819514d ago

For me, it has to be Mukiele at RCB with Hume moved back to challenge Meunier at RB A loss, certainly, but not one Sunderland can’t deal with

peter.lynch5d ago

Huge miss for Northern Ireland, not just Sunderland 😭😭😭

dantowen819519d ago

Has to be! His scoring record in the Prem is actually very impressive. Doesn’t have the same hold up play but is so sharp in the channels and scores great goals

dantowen8195110d ago

Roefs and Isidor probably unlucky to miss out!

markmarston11d ago

Super news! What a signing he’s been. Joined the club in the second tier so that says a lot about how much wanted he wanted to be at the club and woke under Le Bris 👏

dantowen8195111d ago

Incredibly positive news - what a player he’s been for Sunderland. He’s the sort of guy who convinces other top players to join the project

freddie17d ago

He was unreal last night! Such an amazing signing

All the hype and the money spent on him, and Le Fee had been worth every single penny twice over!

They couldn’t have marked the occasion with a more fitting Sunderland performance - desire, discipline, throwing bodies on the line, and Le Fee again with the vital moment!

markmarston18d ago

Incredible… League One a few years ago to beating a bonafide Europa League side 👏

markmarston18d ago

3-0… Pl sides are so strong now. Sunderland could actually win the competition . Would be mental

peter.lynch18d ago

Tough test but I’m going 1-0 Sunderland! ⚽️

eoin19d ago

He should stay strong at the back, sprinkle in a couple fringes players further Up the pitch. Alkmaar shouldnt be underestimated

dantowen8195119d ago

Interesting to hear Le Bris say he plans to go pretty strong - I think it’ll be a mix between the usual starters and maybe some who impressed vs Hull in the cup a week ago

markmarston21d ago

Sunderland were brilliant… looking every inch of a top half team. They’ll get a good run going soon

peter.lynch22d ago

A valiant effort against a stubborn side, definitely positives to take although I understand the disappointment, could have been better

jonathan.gorrie22d ago

Very strong performance! Not been an amazing season so far but just gave the champions a right push! Reasons to be positive

dantowen8195122d ago

I think pack the midfield, don’t give Odegaard a sniff. Make sure Sadiki follows him like a shadow Also, use the pace of Talbi and Fofana

dantowen8195123d ago

He’s been absolutely brilliant ever since he joined. Worth all the hype and every single penny! Just an insane talent

dantowen8195123d ago

I’d like to see Talbi get a go. They’ll need to be quick on the counter and he’s probably Sunderland’s fastest, most direct player

dantowen8195124d ago

I think he’s gone under the radar a bit - both in terms of how good a signing this was, and how good he’s been so far

dantowen8195125d ago

I’m sticking with Brobbey. I think Sunderland need him as an outlet in a game where they probably aren’t going to have much of the ball

dantowen8195125d ago

I’m a big fan but I just can’t see how Talbi gets in ahead of Le Fee in the 10 role His best hope is the right-hand side. I love Hume but he’s simply not a winger

dantowen8195125d ago

What an unbelievable goal though from Talbi 😭I could try that a million times and achieve nothing apart from a sprained ankle

daviescallum4226d ago

Deserved it I’d say, just about. Far from a thriller

markmarston26d ago

dantowen8195129d ago

Missed opportunity, for me! Fofana can’t start games soon enough!
