Despite everything that occurred last season, average away attendances were up at the same kind of level as teams chasing promotion. Fan mood has now shifted further following the takeover - no points deduction next season is massive and 10,000 season tickets sold on the first day of sales in May too. Don’t fans deserve a break - what will 26/27 bring ?

Going down but getting rid of Chansiri should feel almost as good as staying up - with him gone the Owls can finally kick on

Wednesday will be up near the top. A good start to the season would give the fans a lift.

Hate seeing Wednesday in the position they are in. I remember my old man taking me to Upton Park on a school night in the early 90s, saying to my mum, ‘he’s gotta come, Wednesday are a massive club’. So so sad. However, I do think they can bounce back given their fanbase and the fact that they’ve had so long to prepare for league one football

It won’t be long before Wednesday are back in the Championship at least. Massive club that anyone at League One level will be desperate to play for

Do Wednesday meet the definition of sleeping giants ?

It can’t get any worse, can it?

Club has finally been given some reason for optimism. If anything just try to enjoy the journey as it’s been nothing short of hell recently

Chance to challenge for promotion for sure, fans will just be so glad of a change. Been a horrible couple of years

Exactly this, not sure the league finish will be important, fans will just be happy not to be in the position they were last season! Anything else is a bonus

Felt really sorry for the Sheffield Wednesday fans last season. As a Coventry fan I know what it feels like to have been through a similar situation, but hopefully things are now starting to look up for the Owls!

Wednesday, Leicester, Wigan and Reading in the same league - four ex-prem clubs who could all blame ownership for their demise

New owners will get a year's grace. Fans be happy to have a Chansiri-less club. Could challenge for top six for sure.

Wednesday will be right up there. There are other strong teams (Leicester, Huddersfield, Luton) but should be a much more positive season on the pitch for the Owls

Who knows what next season brings at Sheffield Wednesday, but does it really even matter? There’s finally some light at the end of the tunnel, and even if it’s not promotion immediately next season, the good times are on their way back. Coventry were in a similar position not long ago, don’t be surprised if Wednesday follow the same path

If I was a Wednesday fan, the Coventry comparison would give me a lot of of hope
jonny4mo ago
Wednesday have a lot of talent in that team as well, definitely go into next season among the League One favourites imo

Not a fan, but a sense of relief? Easy for me to say but there’s a chance of actually enjoying a season again! Nothing like winning a few games is there?

One positive of the disaster 25/26 season is they’ve had 12 months to prepare for League One… hopefully it’s competitive and ends in promotion
