If he said it to shake up the FIA and FOM, good for him! Being a 4X WDC means he can say things and people listen. What he did is much better than the SJW stuff from Hamilton and Vettel. Max is a racer above anything else.

I think this highlights the real weight that Verstappen carries in the sport and how much F1 are concerned about losing him! He knows that he has a voice for change and he's exercised it!

It's certainly a good sign for F1 that Verstappen is now happy again. However, it could also set a precedent... Will the FIA continue to take driver feedback seriously if retirement threats are sent out willy-nilly?

Yeah 100%, at some point you have to draw the line. I get the drivers are very important but they can't have ALL the power in decision-making!

Max has played an absolute blinder with this! Yeah, some might complain that he threatened to take his ball and go home if things didn't change, but that's just how the game is played.
