Another season of mediocrity, and the days in the Premier League seem more and more a distant memory. Being a QPR fan right now seems to be all about managing low expectations. Will it get any better any time soon ?

I can see the manager leaving if his stock takes more hits as a result of the club he’s at. Just doesn’t seem like he has the tools necessary to succeed

They’re bang average team. Bar Richard Kone, they have no real proven goal scorer, there’s nobody who takes the game by the scruff of the neck and they’re miles behind all of the clubs close to the area. They look afraid to put their hand in their pockets after that Premier League disaster

Burrell had a good spell but faded. I guess he and Kone could grow pretty quickly in the right system. If they can go from 10 a season each to 16-17, maybe a promotion push is on

I rate their manager… he’s still young and learning his trade. Perhaps with a season under his belt in England he’ll now push them towards the top six
callum_boyle3mo ago
Wasn’t that long ago he was being linked with top European clubs
charlesjones3mo ago
It’ll be a while. Championship standard is now higher than it has been for a while
seanfisher3mo ago
Yeah Stephan looks really promising. Depends if he gets the backing he needs though. Getting out of the Championship is no joke

I feel they sealed their fate when they fluffed their strategy after promotion. Who remembers Rio Ferdinand playing for QPR? That was all over the place, leading to financial troubles and low ROI They're stuck in mediocrity and it would be a boost if they don't get dragged into a relegation battle
seanfisher3mo ago
To be honest, the Ferdinand signing is just one of several ridiculous deals QPR made over the years. It was often panic over planning
caleb.sage3mo ago
Far from promotion. Fans must be fuming as well at seeing how well Brentford and Fulham are doing. They were miles ahead of Brentford at one point. Disappointing.
dantowen819513mo ago
They made such a mess of things in the Prem. Signing tonnes of ageing players on big wages… QPR were almost the prime example of what NOT to do
antonymmartin843mo ago
Mid table at best next season. Gotta build from the back and improve their backline if they want to make any progress
george.patten3mo ago
Agreed - Think they are one of those teams destined to finish 13-18. And more likely to go down than up
jordan.harris3mo ago
Don’t expect them to be anywhere near contending next season with some of the teams at the top end
leeclarke05083mo ago
73 goals conceded last season. That needs addressing sharpish. Cook needs replacing with a proper leader at the back.
callum_boyle3mo ago
They’ll miss his leadership at the back. Solid as a rock in both games I saw them play last year
will.butcher3mo ago
Got to sort out that defence, but definite signs of improvement compared to previous seasons
jamie.brown823mo ago
QPR are such massive underperformers. For such a big London club, it’s so poor how they’re stuck midtable in the Championship!
adam98williams3mo ago
Couldn’t agree more. Great catchment area for young players, very marketable club, a bit of West London glamour. If I had to buy a Championship club as an investment, it would be them. Hopefully the owners can spend more wisely than they have in the past going forward
gorriejonathan3mo ago
Not until they fix that defence, 73 goals conceded last sesson!
dantowen819513mo ago
7 of those came in one afternoon at Coventry!
callum_boyle3mo ago
Julien Stephan should be doing a lot better. Wasn’t that long ago he was being linked with high-level European jobs
