14th in the table after five games. Reckon that’s where Pompey could finish up come the end of the season?

Think they’d take that. I do think they’ve done some good business getting Kavuma-McQueen on loan, although he’s playing with a broken wrist at the minute

Loss at home to Derby - what went wrong?

charlesjones33d ago

All over the place. Southampton already above Portsmouth is a joke

Defeat on day one but still a long road ahead! What do you make of our predictions? 👀

dantowen8195147d ago

A lot depends if they can get Jacob Murphy firing again! One of the best forwards in the league when he’s fit!

They’ll be fine but do have concerns around their firepower… they need Milovanović to hit the ground running

chillout49d ago

I think they will be one of those teams that will hover between 9th and 19th all season. QPR always start the season well, before they fade.

Defeat for Portsmouth 🙁 What did you make of that performance?

dancoombs50d ago

That is so disappointing to start the season like that, very flat

eoin50d ago

Yikes, QPR looked so much

Luke Brooke-Smith is the latest Portsmouth signing to come from the A-League. What do you see his role being this season and why?

He's joined for £400k

callum_boyle69d ago

I think he’ll be decent you know - Portsmouth have done well in that area of the world and it’s a low-risk signing

Here’s some interesting random stats & facts about Portsmouth:

chillout92d ago

Portsmouth are the only professional English football club that’s not located on the British mainland. The club held the FA Cup for a record 7 consecutive years - Portsmouth won it in 1939, and the competition was then suspended during WW2. Fratton Park hosted the first ever Football League match played under floodlights, against Newcastle in February, 1956.

Will Portsmouth fans have expected more from Eisner family ownership after nearly a decade ? Is 7 years in League 1 and 2 relegation threatened seasons in the Championship enough ? The Eisners appear great custodians of the club, but are they just too cautious ? Ipswich, Brentford, Coventry, Wrexham and Luton (kind of) kicked on. Why not Pompey ?

kyle.dimond120d ago

I don’t think slow and steady is the worst approach considering where they’ve been in the past.

antonymmartin84121d ago

Owners who are happy with their lot. Simple as that. If I was a Pompey fan, I’d want more

johnverrall11121d ago

Portsmouth are about where they should be as a club. Hard to be demanding more, there’s some very wealthy clubs in the Championship

Which player has a special place in your heart?

dancoombs121d ago

Yakubu was a force to be reckoned with during his spell. Should have kept him for longer

jamie.brown82121d ago

Benjani… What a celebration!

charlesjones121d ago

Kanu. Was about 50 years old and still banging in the goals
