This is a good point to be fair and something that never gets mentioned

Vale made the sport mainstream open to all spectators with few exceptions before him Barry Sheen for one example it was a niche sport very second to F1 and most car racing, Vale made it the grand spectacle it is today I have no doubt the Marc is great Vale was transformational

If we're talking about impact on the sport, then yes maybe it is Rossi

SAHell no, I think Rossi is like Pecco, yes a good rider but they suffer the same issue their bikes have to be set up perfect for them to perform what did Rossi do at Ducati nothing but blame the bike, but Marc like Stoner can ride anything and fast really natural riders,

The numbers would say Marc is the better rider, all percentages are higher. Rossi brought international recognition to the series, and without a doubt raised the profile of the series more than any other rider past or present

I believe Barry Sheene made our sport really popular more than any other rider until Rossi.

Rossi is a freak, anything he rides or drives is competitive, his flat track riding changed moto gp

To me Rossi didn't just dominate, he bought personality and humour to the racing. He elevated the championship, which was a poor second to WSB at the time. Marc Marquez is however brilliant and we live to watch him race.

this question was answered years ago, i wonder why it is asked again … vamos marc 😀🏍️

I'd argue that Rossi competed against stronger riders across his whole career

Rossi will always be the GOAT
