← Talk Millwall

The club is working hard to improve its match day reputation. Physical safety is much higher in the stadium, and fan engage plans have boosted attendances in the Family Stand. Abusive chanting is still a big issue, though, and there remain pockets of violence. We should be talking about what Millwall achieved on the pitch last season, but of course we aren’t

I think it’s also that the club has such a big reputation that these instances tend to get remembered longer than if it happens to other clubs. Clearly progress being made but it’s going to be so hard to remove that stigma entirely

I think West Ham’s relegation has obviously brought this into a spotlight again too, and that fixture will obviously be on high alert next season. But Millwall and the club board deserve praise for how they are turning the reputation around

I think we are talking about what they’re doing on the pitch? Fantastic season, punching well above their weight, really solid core to their squad. They’ll be up their again next year

They’ll be able to push on if they keep Azeez… losing him would be the pivotal factor

callum_boyle3mo ago

Exactly this. I think everyone bar West Ham fans were desperate for Millwall to come up to the Premier League. It would have been great fun to see a different side there

Very outdated take towards Millwall. As Jonathan says, they do great work. The club were awarded silver status by the EFL for their family scheme. I’ve been to Millwall away five times and never encountered a problem. Brilliant club, passionate fanbase and the talk of violence is non-existent. Millwall have earned their flowers on and off the pitch

There is no doubt that things have improved (as I said), but the FA Action Plan has been extended into next season, the club was fined £45000 in March due to abusive chanting in a Carabao Cup match v Palace and were later charged by the FA for incidents relating to fan behaviour against Charlton. This is still a work in progress.

Millwall do some brilliant work in the community and that should be mentioned too
