How do you feel about Liverpool signing Barcelona captain Ronald Araujo on loan?
Nobody saw this coming! 🫨

Looks like a great signing to me

Don’t know what the complaints are about. Who else were they expecting to get? Done well to get a regular Barcelona player through the door.

This deal gives me Arthur Melo vibes

Didn’t see it coming but I do see Araújo struggling in the Premier League. Seems odd that Barcelona are allowing their captain to leave on loan, too.

Decent bit of business for squad depth, let’s be real. Bit erratic and will cause a mistake here and there, but definitely a decent squad option

So split on this - the idea of Araujo is often better than the reality. So injury prone, has an awful mistake in him, and not sure he can play in Iraola’s high line On the other side, Araujo is still elite on his day and he’ll be alongside Van Dijk

Barcelona fans on social media seem quite happy he is leaving, loan is fairly risk free I guess
james.brooke1mo ago
Never a good sign is it that 😂
jamie.theodosi1mo ago
Much needed addition

A no/low-risk option. Obviously he's not Guehi, who Liverpool should've signed when they had the chance, but a season-long loan deal gives Liverpool great control. If he does well, sign him. If he doesn't, send him back and find someone better. Can't ask for a better deal

Good squad option. But can’t be a good sign when a team is happy to loan out their captain
billy.meyers1mo ago
Feels very unlike Liverpool this. Barcelona fans delighted to see him go and that says it all. Bit of a panic signing from Liverpool, and also another defender prone to injuries…
kyle.archer1mo ago
As long as Araujo can stay fit, he'll make a great signing for Liverpool as he will make their starting XI.
josh.barker1mo ago
Another injury-prone defender probably not what ideal, just need to hope him and Gomez can agree to be be out at different times
james.brooke1mo ago
Theyll both be fit for the same 5 games all season
martin.crawford1mo ago
12 appearances, 7 starts, 2 muscle injuries, 1 red card
brogan1mo ago
Although it seems Liverpool fans aren’t too sure on him as a signing. There’s nothing quite like a transfer coming completely out of the blue
james.brooke1mo ago
So good and so rare these days, more of this!
jameslloyd14.jl1mo ago
Surprised by this, think they needed a way better safety net. Putting a lot of weight on two teen CBs who have both had 1 full season under their belts and a VVD who’s not getting any younger
chillout1mo ago
Seems a win, win, win to me. Liverpool clearly need to beef up central defence due to injuries and outward transfers. Araujo is out of favour at Barcelona, but is a class player. Barcelona can get his salary off their books while they make a play for Rodri.
david.comerford1mo ago
He's coming too late to feature against Monaco, but give him as many minutes as you can against Como (either in the behind closed doors game or the televised one) so he's an option for Newcastle
james.brooke1mo ago
Give him both games v Como for me, otherwise it’s Endo at CB vs Newcastle 🥲

james.brooke1mo ago
Yep, agree. Also feel like VVD's contract situation plays a part in it. Nobody knows at this point whether he'll leave at the end of the season or stay a bit longer, so it doesn't make loads of sense to pile up the CBs until we know for sure
jordan.ellis1mo ago
Don’t mind it. Ticks boxes of what we need for a season before I imagine we take Quansah back next.
james.brooke1mo ago
Still not sold on Quansah, especially if Virgil ends up going
james.brooke1mo ago
I think we’ve all been stung with these loan deals too much to see it properly. On paper it’s a very good signing I think, and we should remember that he is likely coming as fourth choice. Time to get behind him!
freddie1mo ago
Don’t like it. Reckless and poor on the ball. Why would Barca let their captain go if he was any good?
charlesjones1mo ago
Shocked. Could be a great signing if he rediscovers his best form
