Which drive do people think was better - Verstappen in Sao Paulo a couple of years ago or Antonelli on Sunday? I'd say Max, rain adds an element of skill

For me it's kimi. George is also in the super fast Mercedes and was front row. Kimi had no right to catch him let alone pass him. Let's not forget his age and his time in the seat. Max is a wet weather specialist and the rain have him a massive hand in that race. Both Ferrari DNF'd so i think kimi deserves more kudos here.

The rain is an equaliser, but it also brings driver skill to the fore

Comparing an experienced champion driver in the rain vs. A fresh 20 year old with more than 25 overtakes in one race is a bit ridiculous. Max didn't have Kimi talent at 19.

True, but I still think it's an interesting debate in isolation

Kimi’s was class but Max gets it for me. To do what he did would have been impressive in the dry, but in the rain and torrential conditions, it’s one of the all-time great drives

Both have aspects that go against them. Verstappen's P17 to win in the 2024 Sao Paolo GP is overhyped as it was helped by rival drivers refusing to even try to defend from him and a red flag taking Norris & Russell out of the fight for the win (after Max's progress stalled). As for Antonelli's P19 to win at Monza, strategy helped but he had to fight Russell.

No question in my mind it was Max. I thought Kimi looked stellar but what Max achieved in Sao Paolo with the rain and the overall challenge puts it a notch above
