Where do you stand on the first-corner battle between the two Ferraris at Monza?

yogesh033w ago

Leclerc was at fault. Ferrari should have clear rules of engagement for their drivers.

david.comerford3w ago

Do you think they need to be written down

pg.gambles3w ago

Charles knew it was his team mate - he had a responsibility to ensure that there was enough room... He's a good driver & comes across as a fair one but that was not the action of a team player

rebecca.braybrook3w ago

I agree, that he could have inched to the left a bit, instead of trying squeeze Hamilton into the first chicane. Is it time for Ferrari to start prioritising Lewis in the title fight?

niroyl563w ago

Hamilton went for a gap that simply wasn't wide enough for 2 cars

rebecca.braybrook3w ago

Feels like we should insert that iconic Senna quote about looking for a gap here 😂

markandpam223w ago

Leclerc was in the wrong. He needs to start taking a lead in team playing instead of trying to beat lewis hamilton. He has cost Ferrari valuable points.

brian.cousins1333w ago

I'm a Lewis fan, have been for years. He cannot expect a driver as good as LeClerc to clear a path for him. The red Sea only parted for Moses. I followed Lewis before he even entered F1 and as a father of mixed race kids held him up as a beacon to what can be achieved. Unfortunately he is coming across as feeling a little bit entitled at the moment.

webshaman3w ago

It has nothing to do with "being a fan" (not that you are, it just has nothing to do with that). Leclerc proved in the corner that he was not competent in Monza to race - he did the very mistake he did there before and landed him just like this time in the barrier (last time, was Gasly's win due to his wreck at the very same place). You are trolling.

elnegrogato83w ago

I guess you wouldnt have liked senna either. Its funny max takes that move he's amazing, lewis he's dangerous. The double standard is horrible. Also as father of mixed race kids you clearly don't understand the pressure they will go through in society.

jeffreymattis03w ago

When max nose dive into a corn he’s brilliant. Lewis does it he criticised.

david.comerford3w ago

Wonder if Max would have ended up in the gravel there, probably would have ran Leclerc deep at t1

csreviews733w ago

Leberk was too aggressive. Ham wanted to attack the front. Heck if leberk was fast he could've attacked ham down the straight. By forcing him off. Ham had to waste soft tires getting back through the field. Too add insult to injury. they never pitted ham for new tires under vsc

sanauredhorse3w ago

Hamilton divebombed. Leclerc responded. He shouldn't be frustrated when somebody race against him. Especially a Leclerc at Monza. He got that medicine from Leclerc way back in 2019 itself against his Lewis's rocketship. Why would he expect anything less today.

david.comerford3w ago

It wasn't quite a divebomb but it was quite a bold move. Entitled to go for it but a bit surprised he did

webshaman3w ago

You obviously don't know what a "divebomb" is. Go learn some F1 terms youngling.

mddnicholas3w ago

Hamilton made a great move and there was enough room. LeClerc f…d up.

cbglavey3w ago

LeClerc didn't leave enough room on the corner for Lewis

makita.jean3w ago

You all can say what you like. One move was legal, and one was not. Asking that your teammate to not be the only person to run someone off at turn 2 (especially since you're his teammate) shouldn't be a big deal. People defending this are part time fans or emotional ones

david.comerford3w ago

Interestingly, Leclerc has admitted today that he was too aggressive

czechfog18363w ago

Since none of us were in Hamilton's car with him, it is impossible to know what he could have done differently. But Leclerc did have room on the inside. so why did he go so wide? Other pairs of cars in the same two turns made it safely. That was far too early in the race to be playing games with your team mate. Ferrari has the data we cannot see.

david.comerford3w ago

Leclerc could easily have repassed him as well given the way the batteries were working

carlos.bergade3w ago

Where was Hamilton trying to go? He took out Russell a few races back and tried the same trick on Verstapen anticipate Hamilton's move and avoided getting hit.. I don't see what makes Hamilton so special just because he's a few points ahead of Leclerc. Carlos Sainz was faster then Leclerc when allowed to race.

john.haigh3w ago

Do not forget that Shamilton ✅️ is "Always Careful and Fair" according to Shamilton.

rbrammo3w ago

Racing incident. Too much moaning. Shamilton only good in the fastest car, now he's not and feeling what it's like to be pushed around. Race hard or go home.

rick.hemphill3w ago

Leclerc definitely could have given Hamilton more space on the first corner. He shut the door on his teammate on purpose, forcing him into the gravel. He knew what he was doing, and his actions hurt both Hamilton's chances and the team's race results!

david.comerford3w ago

It was interesting to see how his line differed slightly to Russell ahead

matth3w ago

They've been close for a while. I'm happy to call the move itself as racing incident. Watching the footage back and the analysis I wouldn't say Leclerc caused it. They were taking different lines and at that speed and proximity, goes with the territory I think. Generally I have low confidence in Leclerc to pull off moves of a champ.

seanfisher3w ago

Im surprised by the poll tbh… the minute Hamilton sent it down the inside I knew Leclerc was gonna give it right back in the next corner

jamesshearman233w ago

It was risky from Hamilton but he did really well to make it stick. Should’ve been a slam dunk penalty for Leclerc

skshaggis3w ago

LeClerc should be penalised for not giving enough room, to Hamilton. It wasn't "just a racing incident".

david.comerford3w ago

I do think Lewis would have done similar if it was the other way around, maybe a little bit more room but not much

thatfan3w ago

Suspect Hamilton wouldn't have pulled it off anyway

nedand4w ago

No team play was there? Not good.

david.comerford3w ago

Vasseur apparently spoke to both before the race - didn't seem to do much good!

tyler.rowlinson4w ago

I don’t think Lewis would have made the move stick, but Leclerc clearly didn’t give him enough space. It’s more his fault than Hamilton’s

deathshood14w ago

That's was typical leclere especially as he pulled the same move at the Dutch grand prix. Where he thought it's acceptable to bang wheels and very nearly ended Lewis race

david.comerford3w ago

I get the sense he's trying to defend his position in the team, having been there so long

thatfan3w ago

Yeah, not his first rodeo

aaditya.krishnamurthy4w ago

It’s one of those where I can see both sides. Leclerc did what he had to and squeezed Hamilton out, don’t think he intended for Hamilton to be forced as wide as he did but I also get why Lewis is frustrated.

jamesshearman233w ago

Do you think Leclerc should treat Hamilton differently? It’s one thing to push Max off but your teammate is another issue

david.comerford4w ago

I think it was completely fair for Hamilton try it down the inside, but equally, Leclerc was never going to let him go the long way around. A moment like this had been coming for a few races

aaditya.krishnamurthy4w ago

Honestly, I’m surprised it’s taken this long. Hopefully this, combined with their jibes back and forth will get Vasseur to sit them down and talk about what is going on
