Does the rule on mud balls if you hit the fairway need changing?
philmurphy19472w ago
Just replace your divots then no problem

Play it as it lies for sure!

If you hit the fairway you have done what you're supposed to do, and you should be allowed to clean the ball. If someone else has hit the fairway and has a clean ball, and your ball is covered in grass or dirt, why should you be disadvantaged?

This is the thing for me. Same with divots. Golf is hard enough that when you are punished for doing what you're supposed to, it really doesn't feel fair!

because that is how it ended up. what if one player in the group gets to clean his mud ball and get a good lie, the other has water all over his ball for potential flyers…. he should get to dry it off right? so they both have clean dry balls to play. nope, just mud ball.

Yes! Golf is hard enough already
jordan.harris9mo ago
No, if there's no lift, clean and place, then they should just have to deal with it!

Play it as it lies, it's how golf was supposed to be played when the sport was invented!

Yes, we shouldn't punish a good shot

no play it as it lies, if you hit a cart path and it puts a huge gouge in your ball… your allowed to change balls. play it as it lies.

Yes Its unfair

I agree!
