When the opportunity to drive for a winning team isn't available.

A eI think after his last few races finishing up second twice then wining, Ferrari had a clause to increase his time there from the second year. The sensible knowledgeable people know that Hamilton always when racing in a new car, is never good in the first season he his discovering the new car. The second season Hamilton is more knowledgeable about the car

Lewis will stay into the 2030s. As first and foremost a racer, the next evolution must interest him... V8 lightweight cars, little or no battery, around 1200 bhp will keep him in the mix... And depending on performance, who wouldn't sign him up? A team player, at least... Might just be given a 3 year extension by Ferrari, car holding him back!!

If I’m being honest I think it needs to be the end of this season or next season. However, I seen him staying until 2028. That would be a concern. With so many talented drivers on the grid, I would hate to see Lewis effectively outstay his welcome. It wouldn’t taint his legacy in the sport but it would definitely not be the ending he deserves

I expect him to return for 2027, but 2028 is doubtful. I do not think he wants to be like Fernando Alonso, chasing glory that is not there any longer. Teams have very good new drivers coming up to try and see if they can deliver. At some point, Ferrari will begin to want to bring Bearman home and let Rafael Camara earn his spurs at Haas F1.

Sure if he stayed with mercedes, he'd have had podiums and wins this season

I think he’ll stay until 2027. Ferrari have given him a decent car in 2026 and he likes the new regs, but I don’t see him continuing beyond next year

The time has come. Finnish on a high, not on a decline. History tells us that age catches up with everyone, the brain and body deteriorate, and youth wins out. Move on Lewis and enjoy a new adventure.

That's what you all are wishing for!
