I'm not sure it does much outside of make the case for his longevity, something that's not as talked about in the GOAT arguments in Formula 1 compared to other sports. I love Charles and I think highly of him but he's not won a championship, so Hamilton beating him as a teammate AND winning a title will do much more for his legacy.

I know people will say his legacy is already secure, but beating one of the best drivers of the next generation at this stage of his career would be a pretty phenomenal achievement

Especially given that Lewis Hamilton walked into Charles Leclerc's team when he joined Ferrari and has pushed through changes to make Maranello feel more like his home!
