Do we all owe this man an apology after his performance against Man City? 👀
Credit where it's due, he was absolutely fantastic! 👏
tbrookes1574mo ago
Not at all! He's a joke!
freddie4mo ago
Took his goals well tho to be fair to him.
bobtaylz645mo ago
Don't think we should apologise for someone who hasn't done the basics all season. Holding the ball up is the basics for a striker. Fair play to him for coming good but we've needing a STRIKERS for years.Every other team has 3/4strikers we always make do with 2.
brogan5mo ago
And even when we have had three strikers two of them (Broja & DCL were never fit). Makes for tough reading when you think of how poor of a season Barry has had an he's still our joint-top scorer
mkevans775mo ago
No..He still has a lot to prove..Everton could have taken all 3 points if Charley Alcaraz hadn't backed away from Doku..If he'd got along side Doku to block his shot Everton would have Won the Game..That's a FACT!!
brogan5mo ago
Don't disagree with you on the Alcaraz bit mate. Think Tarks and Keane need their heads banging together for the second goal though. Criminal from two veterans
alangaston1785mo ago
moyes is a loser
malcolm.214mo ago
Yeah in the respect never won an English trophy, 11 years won nothing with us and should have done! He knows that deep down, we had a cracking team & we blew it too many times! Uefa Cup 08, FA Cup twice.
mark.marston5mo ago
What makes you say that Alan?
lawrenceduffy555mo ago
No we don't, he did what he is paid to do it's a pity he doesn't do it all of the time
brogan5mo ago
More than fair, mate. Feel like Barry will be the type of player who may suddenly feel he's the dog's dangly bits after finally finding the back of the net again. Hopefully he sees it as a platform to push on and not get ahead of himself
ajmiller17th5mo ago
Too inconsistent, too much like Beto, but at least Beto got bigger presence and body strength. Don't see Moyes wanting to sell him yet, maybe another season, Moyes hoping he will be proved right about him, though he will defo fall down pecking order if we get new striker, or 2 in summer
brogan5mo ago
Playing Devli's advocate could argue that Barry still expected to grow at a younger age etc etc. No doubt that you can't go into next season relying on him though
neilpurcell35mo ago
Not at all, we could all have poked those two in, now Moyes will think everything is ok with our strikers and won’t buy one in the summer 🤣
malcolm.214mo ago
Fast forward to Palace game and Davie is thinking umm why is Barry so inconsistent?
brogan5mo ago
No doubt better is needed in the summer. Cannot argue against that
jukes175mo ago
Still weak with the ball and absent in defense. Most of his goals this season anyone would have scored and just as many missed that should have been scored. Times up, send him out, don't even include him as an option to sub, we have better.
brogan5mo ago
Who do we have who is better? Beto was terrible last night. Trying not to sound like I'm pushing Barry as the saviour, but not sure we currently have much better options
carlhully0045mo ago
It is possibly like what Mo is saying about the young ones needing time we know now though that Beto is possibly only interested in scoring after Christmas I think we should be playing upfront from August to Christmas Charlie Alcaraz or iliyman or Tyler Dibling as strikers
brogan5mo ago
I feel like Alcaraz could be done now at Everton. Struggle to see Moyes playing him up front and there's a belief the club would be open to selling this summer
lancecpljones3285mo ago
He was in the right place at the right time but still a work in progress.
brogan5mo ago
Still got a long way to go, but ultimately last night was an improvement. On to Sunday, reckon he should start or still keep Beto in the XI?
tonyhoare115mo ago
No ,why? The lad has been poor and has plenty of opportunity to show that he has something. He has not done that and he now knows he must do better. TO be fair to Barry he got the message and gave a decent account of himself and that is all we ask for.
mark.marston5mo ago
Even his hold-up play last night further evinced why he should probs go in the summer, as harsh as that may sound.
brogan5mo ago
Think that's about as fair as a summary as you can give, to be honest. Well done for last night but lets see you do it again on Sunday. Who would you give the nod against Palace, Beto or Barry?
joe.bromwich5mo ago
All three carry contreversy.Van Dyck should have been red-carded, and not on the pitch to score.Callum Wilson had a teammate inside the Everton goal, ahead of Pickford and a defender, so off-side.'City should have been dealing with a penalty, not scoring from a corner.Three consecutive weeks scores affected by REF?VAR insufficient knowledge of the laws of th
phillipsandersonhaigh5mo ago
Everton DO not get awarded penalties ! SIMPLE !! The refs and VAR must get told this before every game . "elbows" van duck gets away with fouls every week !
brogan5mo ago
And yet what will change? Absolutely nothing! Roll on Sunday when no doubt another one goes against us
bgraneek5mo ago
Youve got to give him credit for being in the right place at the right time but he still has a lot to prove. Interesting to see who starts against palace.
brogan5mo ago
Could not agree more, mate. Credit for last night, but don't for a second think that he's off the hook because he scored twice. A LOT still to prove
michaellimbrick485mo ago
Everton was robbed buy the goal off duke in the 7th minutes when only 6 minutes added on don't make sense
photographerofkilkenny5mo ago
Extra 30 secs per sub added on!
phillipsandersonhaigh5mo ago
The ref played till city equalised !
diydadx605mo ago
There has never been any doubt about his ability to finish. He doesnt do enough of the ugly work, challenging CB's, holding up the ball and such
dantowen819515mo ago
He can still learn the more physical stuff I think! He’s big enough and has a great leap. Maybe use the summer to really bulk him up
brogan5mo ago
Undoubtedly still got a lot to prove mate. But ultimately a striker will be measured against how many he scores
kierancooke_is5mo ago
He got two easy chances and scored both that's all , I still don't think that we have a good player
dantowen819515mo ago
True but it’s not that often Everton have a striker you’d actually back to score in those situations!
brogan5mo ago
Perhaps he isn't a player and I don't think he's the answer long-term on the back of last night. Still think he deserves credit because his effort was much better and you make your own luck. Still had to pull off a good finish for his first against a good keeper
ruffsgolf5mo ago
Most centre forwards are in the right place at the right time as Messi
brogan5mo ago
Personally think his first goal deserves credit, his second one I'll give you was one of them where it's fallen very kindly to him
ptrckbennett5mo ago
Are you kidding? Jeez I love these silly questions sometimes 😂 two goals ok but sheer luck he was in the right place at the right time nothing more.. he needs to show up and fight for the ball and show that we were wrong and he actually can run instead of just a casual jog!
gramorris5mo ago
I did have a chuckle when he said in his post match interview about how he’d been working on the press. My wife said when we were watching he should be subbed he looks knackered - he’d only been on the pitch 10 mins
brogan5mo ago
Was it luck or was it good positioning? No doubt he's still got a lot to prove, but don't think you can discount his performance last night as fortunate
tom.procter5mo ago
Fair play to him, terrific impact and looked a lot more up for this one. Just need to see this more consistently from him
scott.shalani5mo ago
Stevie wounder finally found the net ? But in all furness me mums 87 & struggling to walk & losing her sight could of scored them ????
