Even if we ignore that as a superlative for writing's sake, don't you think 1805 is a decent sample size? Since the article was published this morning, we have had 200+ votes, with Ferguson still the clear favourite. Ultimately, it is supposed to spark conversation among the fans, and I think it's doing great!

Both of you make valid points. This is why I think giving someone like Souttar the armbad for one year wouldn't be too bad. Shanks and Ferguson have shown leadership skills etc, but negativity builds too quickly at a club like Rangers, and can't say how that affects them. Souttar is used to it

Don't you think it would put too much attention on Shankland? I'd much rather he's focused on scoring goals and somebody else can handle the captain's responsibilities

I agree. There aren't too many standout candidates, apart from Raskin, but I think he'll leave. Nevertheless, should wait at least a year before giving someone like Shankland the armband

The problem there is, I don't see him coming. Not that he wouldn't jump at the chance. Series A captains don't come cheap, and 12 million+ is too rich for us.

I kinda agree too. I like it when the captain is a player playing in the spine. So GK, CB, CM works. Ferguson is certainly a standout. Souttar is a good shout among the current crop, but his performances leave a lot to be desired
