Talk Charlton Athletic

Creativity. It’s our biggest weakness right now. Even with the signings and change of formation, we look devoid of ideas and confidence moving forward. We have to become more progressive or we won’t go anywhere

No - Charlton and QPR will both float down.

Charlton seem to have a few of these - forwards excellent at league one level but yet to prove themselves in the Champ. Kelman obviously another

Looks like Alli has a lot to prove. Yet to really do it at this level and he seems to be lacking end product, which is exactly what we struggled with last season. 1.5 million, if true, is a huge risk imo

freddie74d ago

He’s gonna have to be UNBELIEVABLE to win them over. He’s a massive Millwall fan and doesn’t like Charlton… at least that’s what he’s said

tyler.rowlinson70d ago

Makes a lot of sense. Now 28, brings back a huge amount of experience, can play anywhere across the forward line. His recent seasons have not been great, but returning to his boyhood club might kick him on again

I like the look of Koumetio, think he good be a good fit in the back line this year. Campbell and Leaburn also look sharp, hopefully we see big improvements from them this year

In 1938, 75,031 fans packed into The Valley for a FA Cup tie v Villa - the highest attendance for a league ground in English football history. In 1960, the club was involved in the first live televised Football League match - a 4-1 victory v Blackpool. In 1965, Charton’s John Hewis was the first substitute in Football League history to score from the bench.

I can’t see a promotion push but a solid mid-table finish without any fears of relegation would be a step forward - need to get more from Kelman though. Flashes of quality but only flashes so far

seanfisher120d ago

Aim for mid table I think and just try and stay in the picture for a play off position, in this league you never know!

johnverrall11120d ago

They’re getting relegated

dantowen81951122d ago

Surely Joe Gomez deserves a mention? Probably the most decorated of the Charlton graduates

dancoombs123d ago

Jermain Defoe started his career in Charlton’s academy!

Ademola Lookman is more talented

Probably Palace. Milwall’s is West Ham, Palace have a fake one with Brighton, so gotta be them

tyler.rowlinson82d ago

Striker and a creative midfielder should be the top priority. We lacked a lot of quality in the final third last season and didn’t score enough goals. Really need to improve that if we want to survive

dantowen81951122d ago

Get more out of Kelman. Debut season was underwhelming but with flashes of real quality

freddie123d ago

Leave. Can’t stand his personality. He’s doing a good job yes, but feels like every win is all down to him and not the team…
