A football board should be full of football minded people, with one or 2 “bean counters” who are there to reign in the worst impulses from the football minded. We have the opposite, a board full of bean counters who treat the balance sheet as a trophy. No one’s asking them to run the club into the ground but there’s also no need for £70mill in the bank.

Nicholson and Wilson need to go, the boardroom needs cleared out and fresh enthusiastic people brought in to lift the club out of the mire it's in. Dermot Desmond should sell up and concentrate on his golf, let someone with some enthusiasm in you old dinosaur.
