🤔 Will Celtic's co-operation agreements replace the B team in the long run?
martin.crawford75d ago
Be shocked if this isn't the B team's final season

What's the point of Celtic's Academy?
Should Celtic just give it up as the club seem incapable of making the Academy work.

I cant wait for Zion Pullan to sign for Liverpool........ /s

Celtic don't play their young talented players enough - if they're good enough, play them or lose them!
johnprior99981d ago
It’s not that it doesn’t work it’s that richer teams are now taking the bhoys who would have previously made the starting 11…… we need to look ways to minimise this. Perhaps when we have a Ben Doak….. play him……🍀

Academy players are leaving Celtic at an unprecedented rate...

Get Spanish coaches in throughout the academy, the amount of talented young guys who come through is unbelievable, if Celtic get 1 or 2 they think that’s a success, let’s get the youngsters who love the ball on the ball , teach them movement, awareness, most of all to want the ball in any situation and be comfortable when they receive it , not robots

It’s money driven. The same thing would have happened with Forest Tierney and McGregor if the money differential was a big back then. Making the move is totally understandable and equally disappointing.

Why are Celtic struggling to bring through academy players?
johntaggart1201127d ago
We the fans want too win,so the club dont want to take any chances with young players, the media have a lot to do with this,as soon as you go on to the internet or read a paper all you see is Celtic are in for this player and that player when Celtic have not even approched them,so when it comes to oyr young players they dont get a chance

Scotland could do with homegrown player rules similar to those in Denmark and Belgium. Would help all clubs, as this isn't just a Celtic problem

Have Celtic made the right call in withdrawing the B team from the Lowland League?
rvybw9z4yf158d ago
Yes because the age. Restrictions or lack of them doesn’t bring on young players fast enough

Celtic have bloated their squad with a high volume of 'project' signings over the last decade...
jas1160131d ago
Agree, why do other clubs' work when we have an academy ourselves. Surely there are one or two diamonds in the rough good enough to be included in first team training.

I think a lot of this responsibility falls on players themselves . When signed they appear to have all the credentials necessary to have a decent career . Maybe through not working hard enough at training or living a poor lifestyle for an athlete but too many don’t progress and let themselves & Celtic down
rvybw9z4yf169d ago
It’s not “project” signings that are to blame but Manager BR not giving most of these players a chance . Not only that but if he wasn’t going to play them, he made them feel useless . It will take at least one more season to get over the disastrous effects of transfer windows under spiteful BR

Rate young Colby Donovan's Celtic career so far.
Send the youngster a message of support!

Celtic do not have any reserve players capable of stepping into the first team. And haven't for years. So it she be disbanded. They are all terrible m

Very talented.

Should Celtic have done more to keep Rocco Vata?
ianmcguigan12197d ago
I don't think he will prove to be a great loss to Celtic. Another cash grabber . I may be proved wrong but I've seen loads of them do the same thing .

Want to leave they leave

Who will be the next Celtic youngster to break into the first-team?
nicolabeau.sm264d ago
No point even bothering coz Celtic as a club don't being youth through anymore, last one being Welsh/Ralston and that was a long time ago✌🏻🤷🏻🍀

Were Celtic right to invest ÂŁ20 million in Barrowfield with so many academy players leaving?
williammcallister4210d ago
Yes it's not Barrowfield that's the problem it' a lack of good quality coaching. We need to spend good money bringing in good coaches from abroad to get the best out of tjr players. Bill from Jordanhill
nicolabeau.sm151d ago
Don't really see the point in the academy if completely honest, why would an exciting youngster sign with us at 16 when there is zero pathway into the 1st team, vata, Kelly and Cummings would all have no doubt stayed if the path was clear, yet we continue to throw money at duds✌🏻🍀🤷🏻
wfitz1960173d ago
Yes but you've got to give them 1st team playing time Surley there someone better in the academy that's better than what's upfront just now
Do Celtic need to offer more first-team chances to their academy players?
patrickmclaughlin59167d ago
When they give youth a chance and dònt shine immediately you hear the moans from the stands he will not make it and its two risky when the fans demand to win every game.hail hail.

Daddy dictated, and Celtic said goodbye.
