Rodri was introduced to Barcelona fans for the first time before their pre-season friendly against Al Ahly, but what would define a successful season for the midfielder?

kyle.dimond1mo ago

Hopes will be champions league. Rodri is certainly capable of bridging that gap for them but it’s hard to tell. He was outstanding at the World Cup but there will still be injury concerns

eoin1mo ago

I think this is barcas year, arguably have the two best midfielders and best winger in the world. Strong argument that too

shamanth.jayaram1mo ago

Got to be the Champions League. Really interested to see how much control he can bring to Barca’s midfield out of possession in Europe. If he gets it right, Barca could become unbeatable

tom.procter1mo ago

A successful season for him would be continuing to dominate games as he does, staying relatively injury-free and not letting his level drop, and helping Barca win the UCL

jackdrury1mo ago

Has to be winning the Champions League. Think they’d walk the league against Mourinho’s Real with or without Rodri

chillout1mo ago

I think Jose may surprise a few this season.

It’s CL or bust for us this year. No hiding from it. Too many missed chances, too many games let slip. La liga threepeat won’t do much for the fan base, we want to get back to being one of the big guns in Europe again

jordan.harris1mo ago

Would love to see them win the Champions League, but they did also spend £70m on Anthony Gordon so who knows

jameslloyd14.jl1mo ago

It’s been 11 years now since they won the Champions League. Rodri shoud be getting them back into that conversation

jackgallagher1mo ago

CL win or bust for Barcelona this season

will.butcher1mo ago

Got to prove he is still the world’s best. Key role in the winning the La Liga and CL, wouldn’t surprise me if he wears the armband when Raphinha is unavailable

james.brooke1mo ago

Has to be to finally win, or at least come close in the Champions League. La Liga success is not a given but is essentially a 50% chance, so the UCL is where he’ll be most judged

martin.crawford1mo ago

Still the best in the world in his position. Can’t wait to see what Barca look like with him in midfield

charlesjones1mo ago

Win the champions league. That’s the goal for sure.

chillout1mo ago

No spring chicken now, but a class player - had a great World Cup. City will miss him a lot. Will be at Barca to continue to win things, and maybe eye the Champions League as well as domestic trophies. He will also want to stay fit and injury free and demonstrate he can still add value throughout a long campaign .

dantowen819511mo ago

I think the expectation will be that he has to be the bridge from La Liga champions from European champions - can’t help feel a bit sorry for Marc Bernal though after a really good breakout season!

callum_boyle1mo ago

I would say on a team basis at least the La Liga title, on a personal level, he’ll be eyeing up that Ballon d’Or
