Yamal didn’t have a great World Cup though! I think this may count against him. It’s a really interesting battle these days, because a lot of the favourites either disappointed at the World Cup or fell short in the Champions League

Disagree for a few reasons, I think Mbappe didn’t individually show up in the biggest games for Real last season and I’d argue statistically, Kane has him beat. Plus, the criteria for the BDO hasn’t been the same since the Messi-Ronaldo days, which is why international and team success also gets counted now. Under either interpretation, Mbappe shouldn’t win
