Are you worried about MotoGP racing in Adelaide next year?

ardashjoseph44d ago

It is absolutely insane to go with a motorbike racing at a street circuit. Philip island is one of the most wonderful circuits worldwide. To ban this wonderful circuit is really ashamed….

When you look at what happened in Brazil, it's hard to have confidence in the current regime re rider safety

I think the riders being concerned, even if they won’t openly go aggressive in their expression, shows that officials might have rushed this decision

Is Phillip Island too dangerous for MotoGP?

cvn.mm16207d ago

They are taking away the heart and soul of the sport. The worst thing Dorna could have done is sell Motogp to Liberty WOKE media!

Leaving Phillip Island has ZERO to do with safety and everything to do with M-O-N-E-Y. In reality, every track replaced will be 100% about $$$...theirs and how they can increase their net worth, (and I'm not referring to the riders).

Is MotoGP selling its soul by leaving Phillip Island?

mpreiss8252d ago

I just cannot believe Phillip Island is not going to be on the rotation anymore, whatever the reasons it's a shame as most all the riders and fans think it's one of the best tracks on the rotation.

Street circuits maybe nice for F1, but how can they be made safe enough for MotoGP? Besides Melbourne is only 90 minutes from Philip Island, so what's the rub? Everything and everyone fly into Melbourne, and they have a motorcycle ride to the Island from Melbourne. It's become all about the money now that Liberty Media is involved.

They never had a soul.

Would you boycott the 2027 Australian Grand Prix after MotoGP confirmed it will be a street race in Adelaide?

gordy.rollins46d ago

On what evidence can you claim not many people are supportive of the MotoGP in Adelaide. Do you have any evidence or have you just listened to the singers and ignored general opinion.

I live in Adelaide. I've been to the Island...once in 1989 and again in 2003.. Never bothered going back to PI after 2023. My mates that have been over there since all seem to agree WSBK is the better option. If you really need to make the 'pilgramage' yearly perhaps go to that. The Adelaide version? Just don't make it (as is being rumoured) a night race.

They widen run off areas on tracks for safety for riders & marshals, Adelaide will give riders airbags to bounce back onto the track. Record Red Flags for Adelaide per session

MotoGP is moving the Australian GP to Adelaide’s streets in 2027, so what street tracks do you want to see return?

ahambly23227d ago

The TT would be insane, but I can't see a universe in which it actually would be part of the MotoGP calendar. Ulster would be cool, motorsport has been lacking some Irish representation as of late.

Do you agree with Jack Miller's comments on the Adelaide street circuit? 🤔

psycopeteincorporated223d ago

I think he could go into politics with a comment like that: the only thing amazing is the news about Australian motorsports is all he said so eloquently....

ahambly23227d ago

I can't imagine this is Miller's real opinion on the matter. I suspect he's just trying to prevent the move from spiralling into even more outrage.

Losing Phillip Island is not 'amazing news' for MotoGP
