If you were in charge of tennis, what is the first rule you would change?

Huge Nadal and Fed fan here but Djoko would almost certainly have one, most likely two more Majors under the belt if he hadn't been screwed during the absurd covid vax mess (we all know now what a criminal farce that was) . Also , YES do something about the unnecessary noise making on every ball strike. (while some noise is completely understandable)

No second serve, or second serve must be underhanded. It would slow down the first serve and provide some amusing underhand spin serves.

Stop the grunting and screaming, and go to No Ad scoring for all games. It would speed it up and allow 5 set matches to continue. Use the 10 pt tie break.

Allow Second-Returns (like they do with second serves). Tennis has become too serve-dominant and breaks are too rare.

The Players should stop Grunting or Screaming during every Shot. It disturbs the person watching the game. One such example is Sabalenka (no Bias meant). The screaming is so loud that if it can disturb the onlookers, imagine how disturbing it is for the opponent?

Not so much a rule as a change in equipment in pro tennis for the good of the players and the game: 1) the scientifically determined best ball for each surface is used for all events on that surface; 2) racquets and strings go back to early-1980s technology

1. Take the net serve away. If the sere hits the net, just play like the juniors in Europe. 2. Take the insane "warning" away. Go directly to a point penalty and make them 3. Then add 2 game penalys. Aftee that, default. The warning means nothing and stops umpires from going further...

Allow umpires to overrule the digital line calls. Their have been a few wrong calls that they were unable by rule to do so in 2025.

Karel R - one serve only as players win around 50% after their second serve anyway. With two serves the game is so boring as it is so predictable - you serve you win I serve I win.

Once you toss the Ball during serve, it should be hit. Single toss only. No more 2nd or 3rd toss

This would actually apply to the tournaments, but affect the players big time: No more changing surfaces. In fact, go back the way the surfaces were pre-2010, and STAY that way. That's when there was. CLEAR difference between ALL FOUR slam surfaces.
