Aston Villa fail to win again as we are beaten by Nottingham Forest. What is going wrong at Villa Park?

Gonna need a season to gel, fans can’t expect that much after so much change surely

A result of the exceptionally poor transfer window! Far too many outgoings and not enough quality coming in!

With so many top players leaving there was always gonna be a reasonable chance Villa would struggle. I back Emery to sort it out before too long though

Had one hand behind their back when It came to replacing all the talent leaving, find It hard to put too much blame on Emery or the players.

He turned it around last year but this will be a big test doing it without so many of those players that really stepped up for him. Very unfortunate to play the last 10 mins with 10 men though.

Emery deserves patience. We all said similar last season and he turned it around

That’s a good point, wasn’t their start last season way worse than this year?

dancoombs3w ago

It just needs time and patience after the rebuild. Emery will get it right as the season goes on

Completely agree

Not surprised after the squad was ripped up. It’s time for a rebuild.

daviescallum423w ago

I think they’ve rebuilt and it’s already not working. Worrying signs!

I think it may be the end of an era… I’ve never seen a side lose six of their best players & come back stronger or nearly as strong the following the season. Stick in there, maybe get a mid table finish & then go again with a proper rebuild over the next few years under Emery.

markmarston3w ago

I’ve seen it first hand with Leicester… only takes a couple of key departures to slide in this in this league. Not saying they’ll be in trouble or anything like that but it’ll be a slog this year

Nothing much in it in the first half. The second half was the issue. Very, very poor. But saying that, had Maatsen not gone off injured and Villa down to ten men in the final 10 mins, it would have ended 1-1. I am not worried yet. Mbaye looked very good. Manzambi's first game. THB yet to play. Patience is needed.

Dare I say it feels like the end of an era. Winning the Europa League and losing so many key players has left the rest struggling to go again this season

daviescallum423w ago

If they want to end their era and donate Emery to Everton, I’d be okay with that… 😂

Not sure what the Villa board expected when they dismantled a trophy winning team. Fans must be furious.

daviescallum423w ago

So toothless again. Villa signed a lot of new players, has been a summer of big change, but need to start getting results fast

I do worry about a lack of creativity in this side at times. Buendia blows hot and cold and the fact Barkley is starting Prem games in 2026 is a bit of a damning indictment Need to get Manzambi, Mbaye up to speed asap
