We were trying to be too clever playing out from the back and a few early mistakes killed them they all just shrunk away from the game after that. Wolves committed to the press, playing out quickly could have caused them problems but we waited until 90+ minutes to do it. I’ll take the 1-0 tbh, could and probably should have been 4/5.

I think the players were running on empty for large spells yesterday. Heggebo was running in mud the whole second half until he was subbed. I’d have taken the result before KO but frustrating on, especially the goal we conceded. A week without games will do us the world of good before the big one.

Just goes to show how much talent you can find in the lower leagues if your scouting is good enough! Some top strikers have come out of league one - Toney, Watkins, Callum Wilson, Rickie Lambert

He does everything, assists, wins the ball back high, high press, goals, digs in to defend and still only 20. Will be back with a Premier League club at some point, hopefully with us.

Almost exactly 2 years since the club last led the Championship - after a 3-0 victory against Portsmouth. Unfortunately the club dropped away and ended up 9th that season. It feels a bit different this time around.

I think 14-17th is extremely fair. We’ve had a summer of relatively unknown signings and still haven’t plugged gaps in the squad. Jimmy-Jay Morgan looks an astute signing but still desperate for a CM and winger. But both need to be proven at this level. 14th is very fair prediction imo.

Derby fans quite like this - experienced, good leadership skills, knows the division and at 31 not yet over the hill. Lack of pace is a bit of an issue, but they might get a couple of decent seasons out of him.

Tbh we’ve been guilty of players overstaying their welcome for years now, it’s part of the reason we are struggling financially. Decent sum and he’s clearly losing his athleticism. We do need a ball-playing replacement though. The central midfield isn’t exactly full of technical ability.

Don’t think the squad is good enough for a play off push. For me, it should be about getting more out of the young talent in the squad. Price and Heggebo were OK last season, now Morrison has to get both pushing for 15 goals apiece
