I'd agree with that. His style and the first fight with Yan and loss to O'Malley didn't help but he's been fighting top guys for such a long time.

I think he's just the typical show case of a grappler in the UFC. Like power slap, they're just feeding what the majority of casuals want to see. Knock outs only. At least Aljo got a title shot without having to win 10+ fights in a row unlike some other grapplers.

He's definitely up there. Perhaps somewhat overshadowed now by Merab. His title reign never got the respect it deserved
