Do you still think Umar Nurmagomedov can become champion despite his KO loss at UFC Shanghai? πŸ€”

The Dagestani now has two defeats to Merab Dvalishvili and Song Yadong in his last four fights.

Actually, the belt will require more than a bloodline and his current skills- today's Champions are so much more improved, so many more skills they master. He certainly would have his work cut out for him.

He's not Islam or Kabib but its not over. He's a top tier fighter. Everyone thought it was over for Yan after he lost the belt but he got it back.

Wouldn't rule him out, but I said it before the fight - he is not Khabib or Makhachev. Just not the same level.

He probably will be unfortunately but hopefully not for a while

He’s still one of the best. Bit worrying how he went stiff from that one shot. Keen to see how he bounces back/eats punches moving forward

What are you talking about? That's probably the worst spot to get hit at if you don't want to lose consciousness. I started out in karate tournaments when I was about seven or eight and I competed until I was in my early twenties in various combat sports. I was never k0'd or rocked. A basketball hit me playing in my driveway on the side of the head, out cold

He's only 30 so he's still definitely in that top mix and I'd pick him to beat the vast majority. The big question marks are still could he beat Yan or Merab, even after this Song loss. I don't feel differently about him
