Where does Kamaru Usman go from here?

gerradward5d ago

He is a legend, I only respect him more after his losses his heart is amazing

seabright052mo ago

Usman went from being underrated to becoming champion and then being overrated, its amazing, he got the title from woodley and defended it 5 times successfully vs masvidal twice, colby twice and burns once then lost to edwards and never got it back. Gsp defended his title 9 times lost it once and then got it back again from the guy who took it, but sti

Come on look at those names that he has fought. It's not like Sean OMalley where his entire fight career with the exception of two fighters were all softball pitches. Usman is hall of fame and if he'd thrown softballs to hit out of the park all y'all would be praising his name just like OMalley

I think Usman could run into a bit of a Colby issue where he only wants meaningful fights and UFC might not be in a rush to give him the kind of matchups he wants. I don’t think he needs to retire though. He’s clearly still very good

Send him to the elderly care facility, he is old and has bad knees.

I don't know, it might be the end of the road for him

Guys I don’t want to see Usman fight again. His punch resistance has gone. He’s 39 now and needs to look after his health. If he continues fighting he needs to be matched up very very carefully, maybe against some wrestlers. That was a tough watch, never seen him wobble so much round after round

Not sure he's going to beat any of the elite guys at 185 or 170. But seems like he can still topple the lower-ranked contenders, so maybe feed him them

jamie.theodosi2mo ago

I think he’s still a very skilled fighter, but he’s going to start causing an issue for the UFC. If he stays and continues to beat younger guys in the top 10-15 then the division will never move forward. He’s not going to become champ again. That said, he still has fight in him.

Depends - As a title contender I think he’s done, but if he still wants to fight, I’m sure he can still beat a lot of top 10 guys

jordan.ellis2mo ago

Tough SOB. I know his recent record aint great, but I still think he beats a lot of top 10 guys at welter and middleweight. Keep going, Kamaru.
