It's time to settle the debate! Was Jiri Prochazka taking mercy or was it just simply bad fight IQ?😬 Let us know your thoughts!

Carlos Ulberg and his team are not happy with Prochazka's claims that he 'took mercy'.

Both

Stupidity and mercy are not mutually exclusive. Jiri was definitely affected by Ulberg's injury but he's probably in the wrong business if he doesn't know how to handle that.

hes all promo with no go

Can Jiri make middleweight? He has fought for the title four times at LHW. Maybe it’s time to consider a move in weight classes. Although I think that he can beat anyone currently at LHW granted 1) Alex stays at HW and 2) he doesn’t show “mercy”. And I like Jiri a lot as a fighter btw. 🤷🏻‍♂️🤷🏻‍♂️🤷🏻‍♂️

He's spoken about wanting to fight at middleweight before and thinks he could do it. I'd worry about the impact it would have on his punch resistance though. He takes a lot of risks so not being able to take a shot would really hurt his game I think

It was stupidity at its finest, can't have pity in the octagon against an opponent with a broken leg..

aeboyles5mo ago

It was both. Very bad fight IQ and too much sympathy at the worst time. However Prochazka is still a hell of a fighter.

This is a sport, the ref shows mercy ,you just try and win , jiri literally thinks hes a samurai warrior or a gladiator in Rome. Hes not and this is not that. If he doesnt hendo a guy when hes already unconscious then ok thats mercy ,this was just stupid.

dr.cheyno3mo ago

Lol, I don't mind Bisping since he retired. But when he was fighting I couldn't stand him. That Hendo punch was probably my favourite highlight of all time

dr.cheyno5mo ago

Bad fight IQ 100%

harvey.leonard5mo ago

Definitely not mercy. Honestly a bit surprised to hear that coming from Jiri. Feels like he got that excuse planted in his head and just ran with it

dynel35mo ago

MERCY, I was screaming at the screen as soon as Ulberg was injured. , DONT FEEL SORRY FIR HIM! but he did . He didn’t want to end it so quickly as he loves to fight.

kyle.dimond5mo ago

I believe that Jiri believes this and I don't agree but that's whatever. You don't say this immediately after the fight. I love Jiri but give Carlos his props.

jackgallagher5mo ago

Trying to find excuses for the loss!

jordan.ellis5mo ago

Mercy is the wrong word. I think the knee injury totally threw Jiri off his game, but I don't think he showed mercy at all.

george.patten5mo ago

Love Jiri but he is so wrong here. You didn’t show mercy, you upped the leg kicks after the injury if anything!

jamie.theodosi5mo ago

1000% stupidity. Fans buying into this ‘mercy’ claim are naive. He got caught while trying to push the pressure, simple as that.
