← Tottenham Hotspur vs Aston Villa - Premier League

CHAOS at Spurs as they still haven't won in the league this season... Is Roberto De Zerbi finished? And why has it gone so wrong?

edesbois1w ago

This is such an over reaction. He'll be fine! One day spurs fans and worse still the media will work out that the manager often isn't the issue at Tottenham

nigel.coyne2w ago

I'm glad we're not at War because looking at the comments, if ANY of these people were involved at the FIRST sign of trouble they'll be running hard and they only thing you'd see is the YELLOW stripe on their backs! 5 games in and people are panicking #patheticwankers

andrew_easto2w ago

Exactly that.

dantowen819512w ago

About the worst-run club I’ve seen in a long, long time - they essentially bet the entire farm buying overpriced players for a manager who is inevitably going to be gone before Christmas

matthew.johns2w ago

There’s no way he’s going to be there much longer. At least they have finally scored, but it’s still a defeat against another struggling team in Villa…

amirmir2w ago

Thank you for the three points Spurs. Please never change! Honestly, the entertainment you provide everyone should be rewarded!

chillout2w ago

Pressure off Villa. They can kick on now.

camerondesc12w ago

It beggars belief at this point. I’m seeing signs though, encouraging signs

gomatz772w ago

Almost laughable at this point! De Zerbi defo needs a win like next game. Not looking good for Spurs. They might be playing well, but in the prem results are what define you

seanfisher2w ago

He needs to go. But honestly I don’t know what the solution is. There is no togetherness at all and they’ve spent the summer attracting players who just want a payday.

harveyleonard992w ago

Spurs are spurs. Can change the manager and the players but failure is in their DNA (totally not an Arsenal fan commenting)

gomatz772w ago

Absolutely agree with this! Give them anything they'll still try and find a way to ruin it! Not a Chelsea fan at all🤭

jameslloyd14.jl2w ago

There is also the small matter of his fee. Can’t imagine it’ll be cheap to ask him

berny1911ae2w ago

Bring back Ang 🤣

freddie2w ago

Just rotten to the core! RDZ might have to go, but at the same time it’s a poisoned challice

james.brooke2w ago

They were recruiting from a place of it needing to click immediately and it hasnt. They will improve definitely though, I don’t think they’ll be anywhere near relegation to be honest, but don’t think they’ll be pushing for Europe either. The way the last couple of years have gone that would at least be progress and then they can build

jamie.theodosi2w ago

Truly terrible recruitment. The club just feels plagued right now. Don’t think there is a manager in world football who can come in and steady the ship. The whole culture around the club just feels wrong.

jonathan.gorrie2w ago

What’s he done to get so much support and backing? Feels like everyone likes the idea of him but there’s precious little to suggest he’s anywhere near deserving of his reputation

jameslloyd14.jl2w ago

Manager has to take blame. Spent over £300m on average players and isn’t even using some of them in their right positions. Bought one of the best pivot midfielders itl in Fernandes and plays him as a ten, playing Marmoush out wide. Van Hecke is rubbish and they got rid of Vuskovic whose far better. Poor management

lee.connor2w ago

They are rubbish and De Zerbi is another in the realms of football con men in my view. Just a slightly more excitable and Italian version of Russell Martin.

kyle.dimond2w ago

I’m not sure getting rid of De Zerbi will change anything. Admittedly, he can’t stay if things don’t improve but you can’t expect to spend a bunch of money and suddenly not be one of the worst teams in the league. It’s baffling they didn’t go out and get a proven goalscorer though.

martin.crawford2w ago

Broken club. Ange has the dressing room in the palm of his hand and they sacked him. No one has been able to reclaim it since

shamanth.jayaram2w ago

No better time than the international break to sack a manager, but who are they going to get? Who can possibly fix them? Unless they can get Poch back, I think they should just stick with RDZ - even though he probably deserves the sack at this stage

chillout2w ago

That’s the issue - who do you get ? I don’t see Poch coming back (I think he might end up at United).

antonymmartin842w ago

So good to see. They signed so many bang average players for inflated price tags. Awful team. No balance, no power and pace, no clue

chillout2w ago

Maybe West Ham will swap divisions with them next season.

jordan.harris2w ago

Honestly thought Spurs would have a great year, but never capitalised on a bright start to the window. They won’t go down, but it may be the season that confirms they will at some point in the next few years

chillout2w ago

I think the same goes for Chelsea to be honest.

josh.barker2w ago

What they really could do with is an upgrade on Solanke. Perhaps a young, English striker who has 8 goals already this season and whose name rhymes with Bill 🤔

daviescallum422w ago

Honestly, I have no explanation for Spurs at the minute. They’re a mess, and they show no signs of recovery

jonny2w ago

Genuine relegation contenders this season

walkercharlie8282w ago

What's the point in replacing him? managers have come and gone and the problems are still there

daviescallum422w ago

Yeah there’s something fundamentally wrong with the club beyond just who is in the dugout

george.patten2w ago

They’re spurs. That’s the problem. A big club not a good one. De Zerbi will go and they’ll replace him with someone else that’s rubbish. Genuine relegation candidates this time

jonny2w ago

Are they really all that big in 2026?

daviescallum422w ago

I think this could be the year they go, after we should have finished the job last season

jonny2w ago

At least they scored! But yeah they recruited horribly, was always going to end badly and they’ve a livewire in charge of it all

lrandall12102w ago

Many former Spurs managers would have been sacked for less

charlesjones2w ago

Hilarious. Three years of being a relegation candidate. Awful awful team.

jonny2w ago

Worryingly for Spurs, they started those other seasons a lot better than this

pranav.shahaney2w ago

I don’t think this is on De Zerbi. Spurs are looking better with each game but have been unlucky. Things should get better on the other side of the break

kyle.archer2w ago

Tottenham's signing were certainly not worth the money they paid - but they should still be enjoying a better start to the season than this.

chillout2w ago

Not sure how long De Zerbi can continue to be manager. Spurs are now firmly in the relegation zone, have spent £300m on new player and are going backwards. Sure, there are deep systemic issues at the club, but how long is the board and the fans going to give him ?

james.brooke2w ago

Think he’ll get a fair bit longer than this, and he should do. Had a decent start to his time at the end of last season and bought loads of new players. Was always going to take some time. Will get until the next international break at the very least

brogan2w ago

dale.odonnell2w ago

You can’t just throw money at something and expect it to work in football. Tottenham are proof of that this season and many saw it coming.

brogan2w ago

Think you probably can to an extent but just not on players who’ve proven they can’t score elsewhere 🤣🤣
