Who is the most underrated Forest player of the Premier League era, and why? 👀

grahambk20186h ago

Lars Bohinen, what a fantastic player in the middle of the park. Seriously underrated!

jonny1d ago

For me Chris Wood. Terrible for Newcastle but he was sensational in a Forest shirt. Deserved more credit from around the league.

kyle.dimond1d ago

It’s gotta be Chris Wood for the simple fact that even writing this, I don’t rate him that highly as a player. The amount others delivered vs expectations, clear

hardstaff81d ago

Lars Bohenan.. them corners..

grahambk20186h ago

In one, what a player and passer of the ball

pranav.shahaney1d ago

Ryan Yates for me. I know he’s someone who divides the fanbase but he’s come up the ranks, offers energy, keeps the ball moving and is a leader in the dressing room. He deserves his flowers

hardstaff81d ago

He is much improved on the ball and has provided some impressive assists. Not just a an antagonist now. I think he really is now a premiership player.

caleb.sage1d ago

Chris Wood had a 20-goal season, I think that really goes under the radar. You watch Chelsea and others spend £50m, £60m and £100m on forwards who can barely get to 15.

dantowen819511d ago

Wasn’t this after his dreadful spell at Newcastle as well? Makes that season even more surprising

eoin1d ago

Bear with me a second. MGW. Not among forest fans but across the PL, I actually dont think he gets the credit he deserves. Maybe because he didn't come through one of the top clubs like a Foden or Palmer. He wasnt even rated as highly as Eze til recently. Id argue Hes been the best of all 4 over the past two years but never gets the same praise

george.patten1d ago

Neco Williams. Just a solid, solid player who has the right attitude from what I’ve seen of him. Type of player you want to stick around

jamie.theodosi1d ago

Agreed with this. Thought it was a great signing when they got him from Liverpool. Thought he was going to be the Trent replacement

antonymmartin841d ago

Steve Stone for me. Showing my age here. Always reliable and from what I remember, rarely had a poor game

kierandoody1d ago

Of that list I think Steve Chettle gets overlooked because of his partners but he was brilliant. I’ve also watched a few documentaries that would suggest John Robertson was criminally underrated.

hardstaff81d ago

They knew about Roberson for sure. Cloughie just wouldn't let anyone get big headed about their ability. That was his job. 😂

charlesjones1d ago

Neco Williams is a top top player who doesn’t get the credit. Liverpool should’ve kept him

james.brooke1d ago

Was going to say Neco, although I think Forest fans love him to be fair. Deserves more credit more widely though 100%

twlmurphy2d ago

Steve Stone was fantastic.

harveyleonard992d ago

Think Dominguez deserves much more credit than he gets. So reliable

leeclarke05082d ago

Serge Aurier for me. Free and helped keep us up.

chillout1d ago

I think his signing in 2022 broke a British club transfer record - he was Forest’s 22nd signing that summer.

charlesjones1d ago

Good shout

markflower012d ago

Rarely see Nico Dominguez have a bad game. His work rate and energy are incredible, and he does a lot of the dirty/ unspectacular work that allows other players to flourish.

dantowen819512d ago

Neco Williams or Ola Aina for me. Just so solid and reliable

eoin1d ago

I was going to say Neco. He has been phenomenal in the last two years, gutted It didn't work out at Liverpool. Wouldnt be opposed to seeing him back at anfield

markmarston2d ago

shamanth.jayaram2d ago

Recency bias here but Nico Dominguez is so underrated. His name never comes up when you're talking about the top players in his position, he's right up there. Makes the likes of MGW look better too

chillout1d ago

An interesting one who divides fans a bit. Some say he is Mr Consistent, and fellow players mention how he is always willing to sacrifice himself for the team. Others criticise him for sometimes being invisible in games. During his debut season at Forest (23/24), he made 122 tackles in 26 games - placing him in the top tier of midfield ball-winners in Europe

twlmurphy2d ago

I'll add a third to that - Dominguez is criminally underrated.

chillout2d ago

Again I think the obvious player has been overlooked - Chris Woods is the clubs all-time Premier League goalscorer. Clearly not in the same league as the likes of Pearce and Collymore, Woods is popular with fans and would have achieved more but for injury.

matthew.johns1d ago

I think Chris Wood could be an answer for a number of clubs. Always does such a great job at what he is paid to do, nothing flashy, but just scores goals like he is supposed to do!

freddie2d ago

Can we count Ola Aina as underrated? 😅

martin.crawford1d ago

I would 100%. He was exceptional when I saw him live. Comfortable on both sides too. Interesting that he’s now third choice behind Williams and Munoz
