Is LeBron James really no longer the biggest name in sports? If not, who is?

Give us your reasons below 👇

david.comerford1w ago

You have to think who most people worldwide would name as their first athlete, even if they didn't watch or have access to live sport. Messi and Ronaldo top that list IMO

jonathan.gorrie1w ago

Sadly it’s probably Ronaldo, irritating as he is.

gomatz771w ago

Love him or hate him you can't ignore him

aikansh1w ago

If it’s strictly US Sports anyone who doesn’t thinks it’s LeBron James is LYING or JEALOUS!

peter.lynch1w ago

It’s Cristiano still for me, iconic

markmarston1w ago

🐐

Messi and Ronaldo joint for me. Football the biggest and most popular sport in the world, and they’ve been the faces of it for 20 years. It’s hard to think of one of them without thinking of the other

callum_boyle1w ago

Aside from Messi and Ronaldo I’m going Tyson Fury. I don’t like him but he’s universally known. Cracked US which is the hardest one to do. Travis Kelce is probably up there due to the Taylor Swift connection. Djokovic also in within a shout

jamesshearman231w ago

Is Fury bigger than McGregor? I wouldn’t have thought so

markmarston1w ago

Virat Kohli has 271 million followers on instagram… Tyson Fury has 6.8 million. Not even close !

dakir.thanveer1w ago

Globally, no one is bigger than Messi/Ronaldo. LeBron probably up there. Someone like Virat Kohli is bigger than Shohei? 🤔

callum_boyle1w ago

Yeah Kholi is massive and has global recognition

charlesjones1w ago

He never was the biggest name in sports…

markmarston1w ago

Viral Kohli is one of the most followed athletes on the planet… don’t sleep on the size of Cricket in India and Pakistan. Ofc, Ronaldo and Messi are the biggest

kilham.max1w ago

It was never LeBron. It was Messi or Cristiano.

aaditya.krishnamurthy1w ago

In America, there’s still no one bigger than LeBron. Worldwide? I’d say Messi and Ronaldo are still the two biggest names. I love Shohei but he isn’t a household name like LeBron has been for 20+ years

markmarston1w ago

Tiger Woods id say is bigger than LeBron. Golf is a more global sport than Basketball

leeclarke05081w ago

Ronaldo defo the biggest name and brand. Messi closely followed.

harveyleonard991w ago

Ohtani isn’t even a bigger name than John McGinn

donaghcorby19971w ago

Gotta be Ronaldo. But shoutout to my guy Conor McGregor!

markmarston1w ago

I know absolutely nothing about Basketball so I may have a different angle to bring considering I only know the big names… Steph Curry immediately sprung to my mind. Is he up there?

jamesshearman231w ago

He’s the clear No. 2 behind LeBron in the NBA

chillout1w ago

Depends on the metric - Ronaldo, Messi then LeBron if social following. If it’s about talent at the moment, that brings in Ohtani, Alcatraz, Sinner, Mahomes, Mbappe, Harland and maybe Jude.

markmarston1w ago

Virat Kohli has more followers than 99% of footballers

jamesshearman231w ago

Ohtani has 10m IG followers and LeBron has 150m. Messi & Ronaldo are the 2 biggest names by a mile but Virat Kohli is also up there

gomatz771w ago

Wow hearing Kohli shouts is refreshing! But I think Ronaldo does take this one. Messi and him I guess then It has to be LBJ and Curry

jackgallagher1w ago

Messi is no. 1 for me, Ohtani no. 2.

jamesshearman231w ago

Ohtani could walk though my local high street without anyone noticing

freddie1w ago

Sorry but baseball just isn’t a thing outside of USA really… in America it’s LeBron, outside it’s Messi/Ronaldo and maybe even like Tiger Woods etc

jamesshearman231w ago

It’s huge in Japan and Central America tbf but you’re spot on. LeBron and Tiger are way bigger

george.patten1w ago

It’s messi or Ronaldo. American sports it’s still LeBron

markmarston1w ago

Tiger Woods is bigger than LeBron id say
