After pulling out of the Scotland squad, would retiring from international football help prolong Kieran Tierney's Celtic career?

Tell us why you think he should/shouldn't retire

mrcrobo601w ago

Yes , unlike Scales whose international career should now finish his Celtic one after he was one of those voted to play that game against israel especially as he had a choice .

I thought he had retired from football, returned to us just to top up his pension. At least thats what it looks like from my seat.

Keep moving the international is vital to the country, that we back our country, and stand strong as we evolve in the mould, ..........3

Kieran just play for Celtic they pay your wages

anthony.sutherland31w ago

Shadow of his former self. Looks like he should retire completely if his fitness doesn't improve. Clearly something not right if he consistently can't finish a full game.

I think he is being cautious more than anything, given his injury troubles of the past. He still played over 50 games last season, but I get this feeling the only way he can do that is by playing an average of 70 odd mins per game, which he is doing.

It might do KT well, to consider retiring from international football. When your injury prone, as he certainly is, the fewer games per season, can only help. He's finding it tough to give more than 60- 70 minsnper game , as it is. To think that 1.2m would have kept Sarrachi ???

amirmir1w ago

Aye, not bringing back Saracchi just summed up the idiots upstairs at Celtic. He had such a great impact too.

paddy1w ago

100% yes. Do it before he is forced to retire from Celtic

aandycelt1w ago

Unfortunately his legs have gone and I wouldn't see him in the near future as our starter of course that all depends on a new left back as a replacement otherwise he'll be run into the ground by this board just to justify his wages.

amirmir1w ago

I still think he can continue to be a starter, but being managed like he is now. In and out. Tierney just needs a senior LB to help him out, like Saracchi, but Celtic messed that one up.

callum_boyle1w ago

Aye, he needs to retire from Scotland. He’s struggling to last 90 minutes now so he’ll find it even harder after internationals too

dale.odonnell1w ago

It would allow him to focus on Celtic, so can’t see many fans being against that idea.

richardcowie886d ago

Nonsense wonder what Ronnie Simpson would have said at the age of 36 ! All the lions were Scotland players and the few I met loved playing for their Nation. I suppose playing for Scotland did stop them winning trophies, Oh wait

amirmir1w ago

I would argue yes, but it hasn't helped McGregor, even if he was older when he retired.

gerry.docherty71w ago

Tierney can't play more than 70mins FFS and on £50,000 a week that's not good enough. Not the player i thought he would be when he came back.
